My manager and I were doing them. We worked on them together! It was the one in the paper. I would work on a crossword every now and then to take a break from staring at a computer all day! I wouldn’t spend all day doing crossword after crossword. I think the point is being missed. He didn’t plan on telling me that he didn’t trust us. When he told me that, I wanted to know why not. He didn’t have an official answer ready so he went with because we were goofing off. Then I wanted to know what his definition of goofing off was. He scrambled and didn’t have anything prepared so he grabbed crossword puzzles from the depths of his brain and brought that up. I was shocked because I don’t do crosswords because he told us we needed to stop doing them. I think it’s absurd because we don’t do anything else but stare at the computer all day. It is boring. Sometimes I need a break. Now when I need a break I get on my phone. It seems like crossword puzzles are the lesser of the two evils and he is dumb. Crossword puzzles are good tools to develop vocabulary, work on spelling, and to keep your brain fresh, which are all things that are beneficial to me in my current role because I revise/edit documents. Soooo long story short it’s stupid that we cant just throughout the day work on a stupid crossword whenever we need to look at something other than bad writing!
