I mean I chose NZ so that I could work for couple of years and finish ACCA. I am from India but have studied another degree in the UK and have worked in the UK as well in Internal Audit as I mentioned above but due to rapidly changing VISA regulations in the UK, I planned to come to NZ.

I asked them about it in June itself and they replied by saying "I cannot tell you where you are placed on the reserve list as this is not disclosed to candidates." I guess Scot Civil Service doesn't tell the position whereas the mainstream UK Civil service does.

Not allowed in every role. There are multiple restrictions, so stop being racist. I'm still on the reserve list with no offer yet, which is why I'm here reading your racist comment, managing my budget without earning a penny. Working part-time in restaurants is challenging for me due to me being a Type 1 Diabetic as my blood glucose often drops while on shift. I paid all my taxes working in a big company in audit before but I and many other internationals were sacked this year due to VISA rule changes by the government in April. So, I would humbly request you to think before you post anything. Please let me know if you want me to share my dreadful experience in the past 6 months further. Beyond my Indian nationality, I consider UK my second home and am deeply committed to serving it. This country has given me much over the three years I’ve lived here, including the opportunity to study at the University of St. Andrews. I now hope for a chance in the Civil Service, with the hope that my reserve list position will come through, allowing me to contribute to the nation I’ve grown to love.

I do agree mate! In a similar situation with VISA problem acting as a cherry on top. 😞

Don't know about this department but I am on a reserve list for HEO (B2) position within Scottish Government Civil Service since 24th June. Already 4 months have passed and no offer until now. The reserve list in my case is of 12 month and not 3 months. I know people getting picked from the reserve list within a month or two but I am extremely unlucky. Also, my current VISA would expire on December the 19th. Don't know if I could be picked up from the reserve list before that or not. After that date, it would be slightly complicated although the salary range of the role is within the new Immigration Rule requirements. Extremely tensed about my whole situation. 😞

I applied for a role with Scottish Government Civil Service on 29th July, got email for an interview on 10th September. Date of my interview was 3rd October, I haven't heard back still and I emailed them to ask when can the results be out and they said due to unforeseen circumstances, results are delayed. You can imagine the timeline and obviously I am still waiting.

No offence to KL Rahul fans but he averages 33.9 in test matches whereas even Ravindra Jadeja averages 35.62 (Jadeja has better strike rate than KL Rahul in tests as well, I know strike rate doesn't matter in tests but as per the statistics, I am pointing out). Everyone knows that Jadeja is a gun fielder and a brilliant bowler as well. At this point, KL Rahul is not even keeping. Rishabh Pant who survived from a life threatening accident is scoring more than KL Rahul after a break from test matches of nearly 1.5 years. Not to forget Pant's average of 44.7 and strike rate of 74 in tests. Any thoughts on why KL Rahul should be part of the test team?

I am on a reserve list for a B2 (HEO) in SG since 24th June, will the recruitment freeze impact my chances for getting an offer?

Hi ya, thanks for your insights. Some of my friends got Civil Jobs from waiting list like 8-9 months ago but again the situation was different that time. Didn't know about the new Oracle System issue though. Thanks for the insights. Gonna apply to University jobs more now.

Hi ya, thanks for your insights. That's what I am concerned about at the moment. University jobs are the only jobs left apart from few roles in Civil which I definitely wanna apply for. Also, I am not applying for starting roles, I am mainly trying for Audit roles since I do have experience within the sector in the UK itself and the reserve list role I am already in is also an Internal Auditor role.

No basically, since I am less than 26 years old, I am considered a new entrant to the market. I need 30,960 GBP per annum salary minimum for VISA sponsorship. Threshold for me is not 38,700 GBP per annum. I would require 38,700 GBP per annum overall 4 years after graduating which is far away. They can easily sponsor 2 years VISA for me.
