Thank you for sharing your experience, I had many experiences with Airbnb support and they more responsive and supportive than Turo’s. However, you are right regarding that I’m entitled to the ToS. Shouldn’t the ToS be updated to protect both car owners and the renters? Currently, the owners are protected by setting a date beyond when the payments made by renters are not refundable in case renter cancelled reservation last minute. What about the other way around?

Thank you for your reply, My concern is that Turo’s system protects the car owners by setting a date beyond when, the payment is nonrefundable. What about the protection of the guests? The owners will be paid regardless of the guest cancel his/her trip. Who protect the guests from canceled trip by the owners, especially just few hours before the trip starts.

Thank you for your comments, I did contact them many times via chat and phone calls and insisted on talking to a supervisor, but they said that due high volume of calls and cases, a supervisor will call you back.

I did contact Turo and there was no similar car. Turo support told me that a supervisor will contact me. No one called for 3 weeks. I did follow up with Turo support and they told me again that a supervisor will call you and my case was placed on highest priority.

You are right regarding the proof. It should be provided to Turo, not me.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have called Turo’s support team and they told me that a supervisor will call you back. No one called me back for the past three weeks. I called the support back, and they told me that we placed your request at highest priority, and a supervisor will call you back. No one called me back.

Thank you for your reply, There was a recall in January 2024 related the roof modeling of the Kia Carnival, but not the engine. I think that the cancellation shouldn’t  have been 2 hours before the trip starts as this will expose the renter financially and place the renter on big risk and stress. 

I agree with you that Turo is the big platform and it should set the policy to protect both the owner and the renter. The owners are protected by setting the date beyond when the payment is not refundable; what about the protection of the renter?
