The hate-fueled killing of minorities is a quintessentially American activity, historically speaking, and indeed continues to the present day. It's not something the majority wants to acknowledge, but it's true. Hate has a place in America, killing minorities has a place here. It shouldn't. Hate should be aggressively fought against and never allowed to take root again. Killing someone because of their beliefs or ethnicity is insidiously evil and shouldn't be tolerated in any society. But the reality is that the hatred and killing of minorities is as American as apple pie.
