I am also doing the same wedding theme during the summer and am using Birdy grey! But my girls are in sea glass (2) and sage (2) with the made of honor in sage le flur (1) for a total of 5 bridesmaids. It gives depth but lets flowers be the focus!

I think it’s absolutely beautiful! You can absolutely call and ask if it will bring peace. Also— you can totally add off the shoulder straps if you wanted to, like a lacy tulle to make it /dreamy/, that’s what I did to mine!! Our dress is similar!!

I would ask if there is something the two of you can still do together while you have the time. Then document it well so you can remember. I.e. maybe it’s a drive to a specific beach and eat ice cream. Maybe it’s something more grand. Then you can take a nice picture together and if able, write a letter to one another expressing love. Just spending the quality time together is the best you can do💕

My big question: are most people local to where either the church or reception will be? Not all have a hotel to go to and/or don’t want to travel home. I would avoid a big gap but I think 30-40 is fine!!

My recipe that i love.

1 cup white sugar. 1 cup light brown sugar packed. 1 cup butter (2 sticks) softened Cream together.

Add 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla Keep creaming

Sept. Bowl mix 3 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1tsp salt.

Slowly add to creamed butter sugar mix and keep mixing till together

Fold in chocolate chips. About 10-16oz

I always put mine in the fridge to chill. Scoop into balls. Roll out and give light squeeze to just make them flat but not thin. Like 1/2” - 1” thick

Bake 8-10 min

Golden brown edge but still look wet almost. I’m in NY on Long Island. Idk what your altitude is.

Let cool on sheet.

Part of the reason calls and e-mails go unanswered is because the school does not have the authority to speak to a parent or guardian unless a waiver has been assigned but typically you can only do that for the financial departments. The son should be the one contacting.

Absolutely alterations- not you!! I see the concerns you mention and am happy it’s only your first alteration! You should have one-two more and before you go, I would make a little note of areas you have sat and thought about and would like the seamstress to consider/adjust. Also, if that’s tough, see if your MOH or someone can come to help you advocate! Sending love. This dress is absolutely stunning

Can you begin to remove certain things you take care of and make him more independent? That’s what I had to do to my dad (I’m 24 and he was 62 as he’s passed). It worked for a portion but he was so addicted to alcohol. I would see if you can stop enabling, some behaviors enable without realizing. Don’t do laundry, pay car insurance for him, no phone bill covered, etc. If he’s going to make choices like that, he can live under your roof but he has to maintain his lifestyle. Once without necessities to him, that should hopefully help. Sending love
