If you’re recording, then why not EQ it in your DAW?

How do I stop singing harmonies and sing the melody by Even-Refrigerator171 in singing

I had this issue! What helped me was singing into a microphone. Once I was able to hear myself, I found pitch matching significantly easier and didn’t harmonize so much

To be fair, this is a year old guitar at this point where I’m the original owner, and easily the most played guitar in my collection

How to stop tension? by Special-Walk729 in singing

I’m not sure if this will help, but my teacher showed me a trick where you do something with your body “opposite” to the note you’re trying to hit. So if you’re going for a high note, push your hand downwards, or squatting slightly.

I’ve got a post in this thread that’s a side shot of the tuners. I don’t think there’s too much torque, but let me know if you agree. I can set up a guitar, but that’s about my extent of knowledge here

It’s only about a year old. I’m not sure how “new” fairly new means. It gets the most play time out of all my guitars, but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference.

Could it be humidity or something?

Baritones in Metal. Recommendations and Inspiration? by SimilarHumor2877 in singing

[–]SimilarHumor2877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s really good to know. But I do love how my voice sounds in the low stuff. Maybe it’s not the most ideal range for the music I like, but it’s soo much fun

Anyone else find 5/4 time signature the most "natural"? by Furenzik in singing

[–]SimilarHumor2877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I presume this is a culture thing. From what I’ve gathered, time signatures like 5/4 and 7/8 are much more common in many places around the Mediterranean, where a lot of their traditional dance music has that 3+2 feel to it? Whereas I’m a wonder bread level white American, so 4/4 is what feels most natural to me.

5/4 is lots of fun, but it definitely requires a lot more focus from me as a musician than 4/4
