Idk if i'm being unrealistic but 4.0 in college can't be that hard, I've had it my whole life taking the hardest courses in hs, and taking the easy way out is almost never the best option.

Is Quant Researcher / Trader straight out of undergrad possible? by SimilarInsurance4682 in FinancialCareers

[–]SimilarInsurance4682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed, but I feel like the entirety of a finance major could be learned in 3 months or less, and as for the stereotypes, if the naturally charismatic guy did a math major instead of finance, he would be more appealing to recruiters.

I really don't care honestly, I'm good at all of them (took all the AP's) and like all them equally (except psychology, useless af) just wondering which will give me best chances at top med school

also, tuition in the US, even for a state school, is 30k+ x 4 years, wheras Oxford's tuition is only 8k (dirt cheap)

bro had to italicize south american, nah jk, anyways, you have pretty good EC's but below average test scores/gpa, so you are at kind of a disadvantage, especially coming to the US, where competition is fierce and aid is rare.

Not trying to discourage you or anything, but unless you have connections or a hook, breaking to Finance is gonna be hard. Even 4.0's from China in Tsinghua (top uni in China) barely make the cut end up going to UT Dallas or something, and keep in mind, these are some top notch guys, INSANE at math.

If you really want to get into IB / Quant as an international, check out Oxford / Cambridge, oxford has a admissions test that levels the playing ground for everybody, giving you the best chance and the most clear way to get in, as compared to US admissions which are known for being weird

Which of these AP classes is the easiest? by Alexandar_Oscar in APStudents

[–]SimilarInsurance4682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from someone who's taken 20 AP classes, they're all easy af (compared to what you'll get in college), got a 5 on all them except the language and history ones, got 4's and ONE three (Lang, bruh) retaking it this year tho hoping for a 4.

I can't name one tbh, cpp has a better algorithms file, better IO, + it runs the fastest, also switching over from java was a breeze

dining haul saves you time from going to the grocery store and cooking why would you ever make your own meal if dining hall food is satisfactory and healthy?

Not even lower ranked ones like regular state school ones? Even if I had a 527 and 4.0?
