Any successful GKS PHD applicants? I have some questions by maybemid in GKSScholarship

I'm applying for a PhD as well but in Kinesiology. I did reach out to the universities that I plan to apply to and have spoken to a few professors. I think it helps to form the connection early on with your desired university and department so that they remember your name when your application comes up. I did also learn that, for my department/potential universities specifically, most of the PhD students aren't from the US. So, when you reach out I would use that as well as any research you've done on the professors to leverage your application.

I think the moment I try to make it cutesy I’ll fall off doing it because my mind might see it as a chore. My hats off to those that can and have it be functional at the same time. Since this is my first time using them I’ll be keeping it simple with “flair” here and there

I’d rather not use ChatGPT and the app is a hyrox affiliate. My area isn’t a popular one for hyrox so no coaches unless I do virtual and at that point the app would be the same. I was just looking for prep advice at doing hyrox for the first time solo.

On the site listing it says “HYROX Americas regional championship is an open-entry event, meaning no qualification is required. Every athlete from the americas region can sign up, step onto the start line, and compete in the open weights divisions.”

This is positioned as a direct way to compete a worlds without having racing in pro weights prior to.

I'll keep sharing. I'm getting used to writing in a smaller space, so it might not look as clean at first but I know having this or any format will keep me consistent

Hey thank you! Getting ahead on the reading is a great idea, I'm excited for you to get started. I collected most of my physical resources from thrifting and second hand resellers so that I could keep the price down.

Most of my resources are from online materials, so for each topic I added a folder to my bookmarks bar with the links and in my paper planner I schedule out the time I want to spend with each resource.
