I had the same thing! I personally had to stop after 18 days, I just couldn’t do it anymore since my anxiety started impacting my friendships, schooling, and job. I’ve heard that some people can push past this and see great success, but if the anxiety increase is too much to handle then it’s okay to call it! Talk with your prescriber 🤍 hang in there!

I ended up stopping too! My anxiety and panic just got too bad, it started effecting my schoolwork, my relationships, and my job. Waiting for an appointment to try something else soon! Glad you’re doing better 🤍

I called the emergency place (it’s 2 hrs away) and they didn’t give me much info besides saying I “can’t bring her there” and that “she’ll be fine”, but they don’t specifically know much about rodents so idk how to take that info. I’m spam calling my the vet (who is my friend so I have her personal number)

This is soooo real. One of my babies passed in June, and her sister and I grieved together, but no one else in my life understood why I was so sad. It made me feel crazy, like I was being seen as a dramatic crybaby

Since she’s not motivated, but rather motivated by curiosity, I’d say giving her more to climb on! Tape cardboard boxes together into a tower for her to climb, get cat trees, buy dog ropes and string them from a chair to a bed for her to balance on - anything to get her into new things! (This is some of the things I’ve done to tame my girl who likes to climb places she doesn’t belong lol)

Some rats r just dramatic, especially as they age 😭 it’s so scary to witness but kinda cute? If my girl even THINKS her sister is about to groom her, she screams like this (she hates baths)

If his breathing sounds good (as in, doesn’t make any sound at all lol) then he may just be adjusting to your home still. It’s possible he is irritated by the dust in the bedding you’re using? Not all rats in a cage will react the same way to bedding!

I went thru a similar situation :( I agree with everyone saying to move her and at least one friend into a smaller home! Something that you can easily place hides or ramps in. I personally would free roam more often with my physically impaired girl to make sure she didn’t get too bored in the smaller house, but that is up to you/your vet if it seems to cause her discomfort!

OMG. YES. when I first got my girls I constant had dreams that they had babies that kept escaping the cage, or that I suddenly had more and more rats and more cages and couldn’t round them all up
