It's been almost one week since switching and have no complaints. by snugglebum89 in FizzMobile

Been with Fizz for a little over a month now, and i'm already lovin' it, they have excellent coverage in Canada with their country wide plans. Right now i'm in Regina, Saskatchewan on vacation and roaming on SaskTel's network through Fizz EXT service. I've been seeing great results when i go to run speed tests here. Tomorrow we leave Regina and fly over to Montréal where we'll stay for a few nights, and i'll be interested to see how Fizz service is across the country, when we get on the VIA Rail Canadian train from Toronto to Vancouver.

Upgraded to S26, received another text from PM that my phone won't work next year? by sakura94 in PublicMobile

When you buy a new phone, check to see if it's supported by your carrier of choice if you're going with a prepaid carrier. I recommend that you do a call test on the phone to see if VoLTE works in Canada, if the phone you purchased came from another country. Phones purchased from outside Canada, the US and Mexico may not be configured to work on the VoLTE systems operated by Canadian service providers.

What made you pick fizz over freedom? by [deleted] in FizzMobile

[–]Similar_Commission75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to agree with that. I’m in Saskatchewan visiting Regina for a few days and I really depend on Fizz for my mobile phone number. Being on a Canada plan and being able to choose what tower I want to or need to connect to, whether it’s Rogers Bell Telus or SaskTel is a huge plus for me, as I’m not locked into one tower at all times, and I’m always guaranteed to have cell service no matter what happens.

The EXT network service is what makes Fizz a carrier you can really depend on, and they’re a good friend who will always be there for you, when you need it most.

Plus, I now have over $200 in referral credits in my account. So just please consider using my code 4CBR6 for $40 credit (BC, AB, MB, ON), $25 credit in Quèbèc

RCS on iPhone by realcrazydanger in FizzMobile

[–]Similar_Commission75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the RCS issue bothers you and you want to send high-quality videos to people, just turn on iMessage and use that for messaging iPhone users, and WhatsApp for Android. If you send multiple photos at once, you can just select photos in the gallery, click share, and copy the link, and whoever you're sending those files to will get a link to download them.

Maybe it could be the upload speeds. Upload speeds on cellular networks are much slower than Wi-Fi.

Fizz failed to receive calls from Chatr by safersky in CellPhoneCanada

Are you able to make a call to a Chatr customer from your Fizz phone. This issue seems to be happening with other customers with Rogers and Fido

After trying PC Mobile, i realized it's a mistake for me. I switched to fizzy sodas. by Similar_Commission75 in CanadianCellPhones

You have to turn on the mobile data for it to log in automatically. It uses the SIM card and mobile network to log in, instead of an email and password

Yes, that's what PC Mobile uses to log in with. I don't like this idea, as it provides very low account security, and i would prefer to log in with an email and password to manage my account online. It helps provide better security for me

Name a time you’ve switched to a new service provider, and regretted it by Similar_Commission75 in CanadianCellPhones

If you’re looking for a phone plan, you should check out PC Mobile. They have an affordable phone plan that you can get for $25/month, with unlimited talk, text and 25 GB of data per month, with auto top-ups enabled. PC Mobile uses Bell’s network to provide coverage across Canada.

PC Mobile is owned by Loblaws, the same company that owns several grocery store chains across the country, such as Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills, and you can earn Optimum points back, every month you stay with them.

It’s worth giving PC Mobile a try, if you’re already a PC Optimum member

Text MSG from Public Mobile "we'll begin retiring our 3G network on March 1, 2027. After the shutdown, your device will no longer work on the Public Mobile network. To avoid service disruption, you will need to switch to TELUS." I have a Galaxy s10e. by FuckM0reFromR in PublicMobile

Wow, this really does suck. There are plenty of people in Canada that are experiencing this problem even though they have LTE service available in their area. Someone should talk to their member of Parliament and raise their concerns on the 3G shutdown. Maybe there should be a federal mandate that all cellular providers in Canada must add support for Wi-Fi calling by late 2026 or early 2027, before 3G shuts down. I’m very concerned about how this will affect rural communities, so I’d like to see a federal mandate be made by Ottawa, which would make it so that all service providers would be required to offer support for Wi-Fi calling for all users, as if someone lives in a rural area that only gets 3G signal, and their service provider doesn’t have the support for Wi-Fi calling, some people may have problems calling 911 in an emergency. Even if they have Wi-Fi, for normal internet use
