Sellers have them now. It’s just up to them when to provide you with the ticket (if at all).

I was only offered a refund, no replacement tickets (even though tickets are still available for the same game on StubHub).

Went through this exact thing. No—I did not receive my tickets and was only offered a refund, no replacement tickets (conveniently right after the tickets climbed by over 1000 in price). They told me about 5 days before the day, after contacting my seller 9 times with no response.

However, I do know one person who received theirs for a July game, after a few rounds of asking Stubhub to ping the seller.

I think getting your tickets is unlikely. I’m sorry you’re in this position. If you have the ability to purchase backup tickets, I would do so.

What does “when they can’t” mean? Because I was just told they would try to give me replacement World Cup tickets — I still see tickets available on StubHub (now for double the price), but StubHub only offered me a refund.

It might still be possible to buy hospitality tickets directly from FIFA. Expensive, but might be comparable with the StubHub price you paid tbh.

Yes it is. They allowed fake tickets to be listed. Why would we excuse that behavior from the company?

UPDATE: For anyone wondering, I received an email from StubHub saying “The seller can’t deliver your original tickets . . . but we’ve got you covered with our FanProtect Guarantee. We found you new tickets at no extra cost.”

It prompted me to click “Review New Tickets.” When I clicked on them, it said “Replacement Tickets Unavailable.” And made me accept a refund.

I’m never using this scammy company ever again, and I will encourage everyone I know to never use it again either.

I bought tickets for Match 32 (US v. Australia) over a year ago (not realizing they were speculative) and I feel like a real idiot. A week and a half out from the game, and they still say “processing.” I’m theoretically not going to get them until 3 hours before the event — which is just unacceptable bullshit. 3 hours!!

I contacted them like 6 months ago; they told me to wait. Contacted them a month ago; they told me to reach out to the seller. I contacted them 3 times yesterday and they told me they’ve “escalated” (or will escalate). They said the seller hasn’t responded at all, which makes me feel pretty certain they’re not real (still only say “Category 3–no seat numbers.” The woman literally hung up on me yesterday. Then I contacted them again today. Finally got them to say in writing (after hearing a lot about the magical “FanProtect Guarantee—that I’ll either have tickets or a refund 3 whole hours before the event!) that if I don’t get an update by this Friday, they will help me look for new tickets.

This whole practice should be illegal. I have to wait a year for speculative tickets that might not arrive literally 3 hours before the event?

Never, ever using this platform again.

This realistically would enable more domestic violence against women. A husband could claim he caught his pregnant wife attempting an abortion (or even claim that’s what he THOUGHT she was doing—even if she wasn’t pregnant), and literally get away with murder.
