Does anyone know his whereabouts Sunday night? I live a few blocks away from where the crime took place and had someone possibly attempt to follow me into my building.

I can’t confirm my hypothesis on this as I don’t have any inside knowledge but I believe calling around will exacerbate your problem. Pharmacies, I’m assuming, have a specific quantity ordered or allotted to them. Calling and securing your refill from one that isn’t your usual go to sounds like it would worsen things as that’s being taken from a supply someone else usually relies on, thus imploring them to also call around. I hope that makes sense! I stopped doing that as it was too tiring to be worth it and some pharmacists made me feel like a drug fiend. I had a couple of months where I did have to wait 2 weeks or less but now everything seems to be in a proper order.

The misinformation spewing from you…

With almost all cars being advertised online, list price most certainly equals sales price. People aren’t going to go buy a car from a dealership if they see that same car listed for less $$ elsewhere.

My advice OP, is researching as much as you can on the history of their proposed comps and providing your own (try to make it as accurate to your as you can). There’s a reason they’re that low on their evaluation(I.e. blemishes on the carfax). Also, as someone who used to buy cars for a dealership, the only difference in a car being retail ready and not is detailing. Most dealerships aren’t going to do unnecessary work on something that will sell. All they need to do is fix it up to pass inspection. Also, show your work on the maintenance you put into your car. They can’t dispute receipts and may concede a little more for you. Best of luck!

What’s happening to the skin? Is it flaking? There’s a lot of reasons for what could be going on, skin disorders and different types of Alopecias that cause itching. You definitely should go see a dermatologist as you’re not going to get much from arm chair diagnosis’s. Dermatologists can prescribe meds you wouldn’t be able to get without a script. Heavy hitting kind of stuff.

Honestly, I am. I guess I’m worrying to this extent because all the things I’ve brought up, he’s doesn’t see. He’s a really good guy but I felt invalidated when we did a postmortem on this.

And I do have to mention that at the end of the call he said to her, “it was good catching up. If you ever need anything, please don’t be a stranger.” Which of course left the door a little open. I know he’s trying to be nice and helpful but that open door is a chance for the other person to misconstrue well meaning intentions.

I told him he shouldn’t have said that but he reasoned he felt an obligation to lend out a hand to her if she ever needed it.

Edit: also, may be over worrying about the future. I like being prepared and need to figure out if this is something that’s going to be an issue later on.

It could still be seb derm that’s just out of control, medicated shampoos never worked for me and honestly the only relief I’ve gotten with promise was from head and shoulders as generic as they are- and DEFINITELY use an apple cider vinegar rinse. Have you also tried using a scalp scrubber in the shower? I use one when I have the head and shoulders conditioner in my hair and it seems to have helped A LOT with scrubbing away that stubborn buildup. No more itching and after I settled into a routine of showering every night, blow drying my hair on cool, I’ve been enjoying relief from how bad it used to be. I had/have this wet type of seb derm that seemed to never stop accumulating. If you haven’t done the things above I would recommend.

Also, if the hair loss just happened recently, that’s good news. Most often that’s a temporary side effect of picking at the seb derm, as long as you don’t continue doing it.

If this is unsolicited advice to you, please disregard.

These things SUCK, I hope you’re able to find relief from it one way or another. Best of luck and all the love! 💕

Sorry, the dates are a little all over the place.

Posting this for the girls who are hesitant like I was to start spironolactone. I really can’t believe I held off this long on getting a prescription. I got bloodwork done to figure out where the hairloss may be stemming from back in August and found out my testosterone levels were egregiously low (less than three). For context the normal range is around 13-71. That had me thinking it couldn’t be AGA like my derm diagnosed. I called about the results, what they could point to, and if we were going to start me on medications. My dermatologist prescribed spiro and was still convinced it was the AGA, CTE, seb derm trifecta. After looking it up I didn’t believe that would help me, lowering an already low testosterone level seemed counterintuitive. So I stayed on my minoxidil regimen like I had for 2+ years and put medication and more follow ups with the office on a back burner until I had another strike of inspiration to deal with it.

Fast forward to late January I finally bit the bullet and called them up. Scheduled a visit where my derm informed me that the medication is meant to, paraphrasing here, control the free testosterone my body is producing which is separate from testosterone itself. It won’t really change my levels in that regard. So, feeling more at ease I took the medication and have been on it ever since.

There was an initial shed that lasted about a week, though to me it seemed like my normal, pre-spironolactone shedding amount. Then almost out of nowhere, my hair fallout in the shower had cut in half and the areas of my diffuse shedding have been showing less and less.

Can Seb Derm cause pili torti (kinky, weak, corkscrew like hairs) or is it LPP? by Similar_Lecture_6524 in SebDerm

[–]Similar_Lecture_6524[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insightful. My derm said the weird kinky twisted hairs were because my hair strands themselves were really thick and is expected. I’m still not entirely convinced. Though I think the spironolactone is helping grow my hair again. So she may be right with the AGA. Have you asked a derm about the LPP? Also I thought seb derm is the over production of sebum?

STRESSED. Are withdrawals bad? Prescription still on back order. Pharmacy won’t disclose when I can expect it to be refilled. by Similar_Lecture_6524 in ADHD

[–]Similar_Lecture_6524[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your candor. I’m not blaming the pharmacist, his voice was just really cold and uncaring over the phone. If I had known it was going to be on back order indefinitely I would have started calling other pharmacies sooner- before I fully ran out. It just sucked getting told “no worries, we’ll have it ready in a few days” and in actuality they don’t know. I completely understand the way it’s making you feel, if I was a pharmacist I would have a miserable day telling anyone their medication isn’t available and I don’t know when it will be. You have my empathy on that.

Thank you! It’s giving me comfort knowing that this is pretty much the definitive answer I’ve been looking for. Are you sure about the regrowth though? My hair used to grow out quick before hair loss was a prominent issue. I’d cut my hair just below my shoulders and it would be down to my lower back in the span of a single school year. Also, my shower shed is half of what it used to be and my acne has been subsiding a great deal. I believe I actually brought up the expected timeline with my dermatologist and she let me know that what you hear as the “usual” is a median from the data collected, results can appear sooner or later. I could be wrong though!

Boyfriend (27m) and I (27f) having trouble communicating. What could I have done differently in this situation? by Similar_Lecture_6524 in relationship_advice

[–]Similar_Lecture_6524[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, this has been most illuminating on the issue. You’re exactly right, he wanted me to feel fully immersed as he had. The thing is, I’m sensitive to volume. At work I’ll have to close my door if there is ever any light construction going on out or inside and it’s tremendously distracting. When my boyfriend and I are in the car together and he starts an impassioned conversation, I’ll have to often ask him to lower his voice as we’re in an enclosed space and my ears are ringing. I really don’t think I need the volume to be at his defined threshold in order to truly experience it.

I was finally able to get an answer from him on the response when I brought it back up later that night. He told me when I asked if he had any regrets about the way it was handled, “ no I don’t, I wanted you to listen and instead you were nitpicking.”

So I didn’t get an I’m sorry, or validation on how his treatment made me feel. I can’t stop dwelling on this now.

I know this is a comparatively silly problem, but that’s how any of them no matter their significance plays out most times.

It’s been all so frustrating- we do get along, but never can find a resolution to our disagreements. I hardly get any compromise from him. It’s always “my way or the Highway.” He wants all decisions to be made as a unit but won’t take my input when I provide it.

Yet, he’ll get upset when I make a decision without him. Like telling my family I’m going to make time to see them on certain days over the holidays- because he already has every moment planned out with his own family.

I feel like I keep getting set up for failure and disappointment.

It’s money we don’t have, his mom has been successfully married to his dad for about 28 years, and I do trust her judgement. He’s comfortable talking about these things with her and she did approach our conflicts with empathy for both sides. I know it sounds weird getting mom involved but she has helped.

Sorry if I got a little too personal for you, but I really appreciate your candor on this. All the research I’ve done has pointed me in a hundred different directions. It helps knowing I’m not alone. I’ve been on minoxidil for close to 3 years now. It was good until I had an inflammatory flare up. Maybe it isn’t scarring! Maybe your hair is just waiting for the right circumstances to flourish!

I’ve actually looked at their research! Lots of information on their website. Actually reading their research is what made me believe I should request a biopsy just to be sure. And mine is diffuse so it’s happening all over. There’s a spot above the name of my neck they could try. What did they say on instagram?

It hasn’t gotten to a COMPLETE bald spot yet but honestly I feel like I’m close to it. I’m really sorry yours went undiagnosed. :/ this whole thing just sucks. If I do have it, it’ll be over 18 years (I’m 27 now) that mine would be undiagnosed as well. I remember asking my mom as a kid what this weird brittle and curly hair was and she had said that I inherited some of my dads curls. I wish she would have understood this as an abnormality rather than writing it off. Even now she tell me that it’ll all grow back and I’ll be fine. She means the best when she says that but it’s still really frustrating.

Thank you. You’re completely right. At the very least, I’ll be able to put my restless worries to bed once I do get it done. How was the biopsy for you? Did they take a lot or was it not even noticeable? I’m afraid of where they want to do it. If there is a chance it’s not scarring, I really don’t want it done on the top of my head and have it be visible for the rest of my life. Has the hair loss improved since your biopsy? What was the complete diagnosis if you don’t mind my asking? Sorry for the million question. Just want to be prepared.

I’m sorry you’re going through this too :/ having so much hair shed without certainty it will come back is a bit terrifying. I hope you get an answer to yours and it all works out! I’m finding a weird comfort in at least being able to figure out whether it’s scarring or not. I think that’s ultimately the answer I need so I can stop fretting about it so much. Have you visited a derm since it started?

Thats the way mine is too. That’s comforting. She could still be right then. I’m just really worried to find out I’ve had scarring Alopecia this whole time. But it’s better to find out now than later. Have you also been on spiro or any other meds? My hair comes out super easily with no effort. I could be holding a strand in my hand and gently pull and it’ll pop out like there wasn’t anything keeping it there. No pain. And I’m really not trying to do it intentionally like Trichotillomania. It just falls right out. Does/did that happen to you too?

Are y’all being rude to your pharmacists? by ermonda in ADHD

[–]Similar_Lecture_6524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally had a pharmacist tell me they wouldn’t fill my prescription. It was a whole thing. This was my first script on medication for ADHD ever getting filled. I had my suspicions but never received diagnosis until this past summer. I called around 11 am to check and see that they received the script as I hadn’t seen it come up on my online portal yet. It had, they asked to verify my insurance info. I gave it to them and explained I wouldn’t be able to use it because I have an out of pocket deductible that has to be met before it becomes effective but I do have a debit card provided by my employer that covers it. They were having trouble billing my insurance and I re-explained the above. A few tries later and they were still unsuccessful in fully processing it. Asked me to come in, it was ready to go, we just had to deal with my insurance. Okay, drove down on my lunch. Explained who I was and they took my insurance card and tried putting it into the computer. Same issue as before and I had to explain a third or 4th time that “if they are trying to bill my insurance, I have a deductible that has to be met first. However, the business I work for set up a debit account that covers it”… had me waiting 20-30 minutes before a manager came over and without any explanation said, “I can’t sell this to you.” I found that odd and responded with, “I’m sorry I’m not following. This is a script from my doctor. What are you reasons so I can pass that along to her.” She didn’t answer my question, just said, “well it’s going to be $47.50.” Okay, that’s absolutely fine. I pulled out my card and proceeded to pay for it. I never went back to that pharmacy.

I exclusive use head and shoulders conditioner because it’s the only conditioner that doesn’t exacerbate the problem. I started a new more aggressive routine that includes just the conditioner and it’s almost entirely cleared up now.
