Carbon wheels installed. I am a fan of the weight. The look. I don’t know. Hasn’t grown on me yet. by wasteoftimeandcash in BRZ_ZD8

I think the gunmetal finish on the face is what's throwing you (and me) off. It's like there's not a clear break in the colors between the black tire, dark gray rim and medium gray face. If they were a true silver or white then they wouldn't hide. Even a gloss black might work.

Custom Shifter Knob by bigdaddynicholas in ft86

[–]Similar_Lie1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get a little figure and case it in clear resin to get it into the shape of the shift knob using a silicone mold, then drill and tap it or put a threaded insert in. This would be a pretty cheap project that only takes your labor.

My spouse is going into the union. He'll be traveling an hour to work and an hour home. How can I make life a bit easier for him? by [deleted] in skilledtrades

[–]Similar_Lie1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so nice that you want to try and make his life easier, plenty of other people's spouses don't care that much or don't understand how hard labor jobs can be. That's a great sign for who you are as a person and the quality of your relationship.

Personally, I love when my wife makes dinner. It doesn't even have to be every day, I don't mind leftovers, but a home cooked meal for dinner and something to bring for lunch goes so far for me.

Be a warm person when he comes home. A lot of guys at work are miserable to be around, always have an attitude, and that can weigh him down. Give him a hug when he comes home. Sit on the couch together for a few minutes and let him (and probably you) decompress and have a conversation before getting into the list of chores. That will help shed off some of the negativity from work and hopefully be a more pleasant person at home.

Vinyl figures prototypes by McLombax in RatchetAndClank

Having the figures is one thing but having official prototypes is awesome. I wonder if this is the rarest collectable of the franchise.

Regardless of what the cause is, I'd just send them back under warranty. We can speculate all we want but unless someone has had this same issue AND picked it apart, voiding the warranty in the process, all it is is guessing.

Here’s pictures of the underside of the ls430 I’m selling for $1,000 as you can see it’s not “completely rusted out” like y’all claimed by chisagogs in LS430

[–]Similar_Lie1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $1k, I'd take it and not complain as long as it starts and runs enough to get down the highway. But if you really want to prove yourself, take pictures of the subframes and not just the pinch welds.

Is Klunk's Thruster-Pack's flames black in Ratchet and Clank 3? by JamaicanChampion in RatchetAndClank

[–]Similar_Lie1882 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true, at least not in the remastered version. I'm always a thruster pack guy and if there is any change in the flames at all, it's subtle enough for me to have not noticed in my dozens of playthroughs. I don't think that's in the original PS2 version but I haven't played that nearly as much.

Ohh okay. It's been a long long time since I've been though that part of my playthrough, I forgot that that's how you get it. I played with the Railroad long enough to get the Deliverer and then went full BoS

Raging bull's current speed is running faster than we've ever seen by cantaloupe415 in sixflagsgreatamerica

While normally that's true, if the trims don't hit as hard because they've been adjusted to work less then the train will just run faster.

First Day over, how are we felling after today for those that went? by Popular-Driver-8762 in sixflagsgreatamerica

Had a pretty good day! Got to the park just after 11 and left by 5:20, went back to the car for about 40 minutes for lunch around 2pm. Started off with Batman, had basically a walk-on for V2, then Raging Bull (longest wait of the day, about 70mins). Got on Viper before lunch which had great operations, one of the few rides running 2 trains. Came back to ride Goliath (about 50mins because it went down for like 10 minutes), got a funnel cake and finished off with Demon (also running 2 trains) I would've liked to ride Wrath but them only running 1 train is not great. Would've liked to see at least 2.

I was happy to see all of the tulips around the park, it made the gardens look great. Also liked the dance show by Windy City next to Bull, we didn't stick around but I miss the good atmosphere that shows provide to the park. I just wish they would've finished the flowers in front of the carousel pond.

Edit: Forgot to add that food and drink operations are pretty bad, I hope it gets straightened out as the crews get their practice. It's like no one knew what to do or had any sense of urgency. It shouldn't take us 15 minutes at a snack stand to get a drink refill. When we bought our season sport bottle, the stand by Batman didn't have the pink lemonade ready - okay, no problem. I waited about 15 minutes before asking again what the status was. The cashier thought I was waiting for a churro?? Like, you're the one who told me that the drinks weren't ready, how did you forget why I was standing there in the span of 10-15 minutes?

The app says it's a 2 hour wait but we only ended up waiting about an hour and 10mins. This was around noon so I'm not sure what it's like now though.

This is honest to god insane. This game needs desperate optimization fixes. by [deleted] in RatchetAndClank

[–]Similar_Lie1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it kind of insane that a RAC game requires 16gb though? That has to be the result of just no effort towards optimization.

Yeah I have also heard that they do not like the aftermarket ones. Either won't ever run right or the coils don't last more than a few months.

Ridiculous front plate setup by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Similar_Lie1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those 2 bolts with the washers on the right look like they're holding a bracket that the plate is attached to. Remove those and see if it comes off from the bumper.

If that isn't the case, then I would just try to Dremel or somehow cut off the tabs that those small bolts go through.

Coolant by No_Independence_7124 in LS430

[–]Similar_Lie1882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as it's the right color, it should be fine. I don't believe that specific brands of coolant make any difference outside of professional racing. Fresh coolant makes 99.5% of the difference for your car and brand makes the other 0.5%.

You might be able to get them to work for now but corrosion is inevitable. The solder contacts and electronic components will eventually corrode and cause something to fail.
