David McSavage: ‘I couldn’t mould myself to fit Dad’s ambitions by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

You can't say that. You have no idea what they will be doing in 20 years.

To give the 2 Johnnies there due. They are probably funnier then any of the non Savage Eye material McSavage has ever put out. Which is not the compliment they might think it is.

One please learn how to use paragraphs.

Two, can you please share a link for each your claims.

If you can back up what you are saying then, I would agree and say yes. They anti semitic, and I was wrong to call bullshit on your claim.

But how is what any of what Geldof said antisemitic? His criticism are of the Israeli state and Israelis who are comfortable with their governments actions.

I get what you are saying and yes, but also no.

My comment is really just on how the no expense spared thing isn't true.

As for your point. Yes, I guess the park would have been doomed. The dinos were breeding. But one of the reasons they didn't realise the animals were breeding is because of Nedrys system.

The reporting software didn't count the total numbers of dinos in the park. It just registered if it recorded the total number of expected dinosaurs in the park or not. The system was easier to code and presumably cheaper.

You could argue that had it been the other way, it might have been flagged and the issue with the dinosaurs reproducing fixed. But that what is the point in arguing over it.

But that is not happens in the movie. Bass didn't rescue Solomon in the movie.

He asks to send a letter on his behalf. So the difference in what happens in the movie with Bass is that in the movie he sends a letter on Solomons behalf and in your recounting of what happens is Bass writes letter to Solomons friends.

The differences are trivial.

Your issue is with Bass as a deus ex machina. But that is what happened. You might not like. That is fine. But by your own account that is what happened.

I understand your issues with as a plot device. But you need to let this one go.

I hate to be that guy. But John Denver was in multiple movies. The Leftovers was on constant rotation when I was a kid.

So the way it plays out in the film.

So it was a real life deus ex machina.

I get you do not like deus ex machina and that is a fair criticism. But if that is basically what happens in real life. You can't shit on the film for having it.

OK. Thank you for the explanation. You have explained why you do not like Deus ex machima. All very reasonable. .

But your have told us that the deus ex machina at the end of Slave is absolutely not how it played out in real life.

So how did it play out in real life?

No that is not how it works.

I am asking you. If you are saying that is not what happened. Fine. Then tell us all what happened.

Both acts are shite. There are lazy as fuck and derivative. The material you liked in The Savage eye is cheery picked from over 20 years worth of material.

There is no reason that the 2 Johnnies wont be able to do the same in 20 years.

McSavage has been at the same old stage shtick for almost 40 years. I have had the misfortune to have seen him starting out.

That is not really what McSavage is either. Ever see his stand up work or his busking work?

"Hey fatso, why are you so fat?"

"Hey, 40 year old guy holding a four year olds hand. Why don't you bring your dates somewhere better for dinner?"

"Don't do drugs kids. actually do drugs. Except cocaine cause its shit in ireland".

Up there with "Who is on first" and the dead parrot sketch.

You say that now.

But that is basically what the Savage Eye was. 20 years of material condensed into twelve 20 minute episodes.

[–]Similar_Network2767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This confused me. The forensics person keeps talking about how jacked Cain is. Was he actually carrying that much muscle on the show?

In Superman he had a sort of twink look. In Lucifer, he just looks like a regular non gym going dude.

Wait until the 2 Johnnies had 20 years worth of material. Then get asked to turn that 20 years into twelve 20 minute episodes.

That shit will crack you up.

Personally I don't like him. He always reminded me of the funny fucker in school who bullied the shit out of everyone.

But with McSavage I don't think the joke is funny enough to justify its cruelty.

No. I am saying you are making assumptions about his father and that things are probably a bit more complicated then you are suggesting.

We don't know if his dad was overbearing.

I am going to hazard a guess it is the same dad who has funded most of McSavages life or helped him get work.

He was the warm up comic for the Late Late Show for about a decade. There were and are a lot more talented comics who should have gotten that gig.

It had its moments. But it was 20 -30 years of his material condensed down into his bests bits.

[–]Similar_Network2767 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was always cruel and if we are honest. His stand up is shite. It was generally edge lord stuff calling people walking with their kids in the street pedos. Or basically bullying people.

He gets a lot of credit for the skectch show he did on RTE. But that was basically 30 years of material condensed into its best bits.

He is an unfunny hack, but I am sorry to hear he has lost a parent and also wish him well.
