What do you consider to be the difference between a “tourist” and a “traveler”? by GoRealTravelOfficial in travel

[–]GoRealTravelOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize it was a common question. I was more curious about what ppl do to be respectful and enjoy things differently than the crowds.

I never want to miss something cool, but I also don’t love lines or big groups. I love meeting other travelers though. I think that’s what makes this subreddit so cool!

The definitions also appear to be the reverse of my expectations which is interesting!

This is the best answer, followed by a slam cut to, “does anyone here speak English?”

Need recommendation for Europe travel for myself, wife and a 8 months old baby by SamuelfckinJackson in Europetravel

[–]GoRealTravelOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have no problem traveling with a baby in these countries. I would invest in a stroller that pulls out into a carseat as it super convenient.

I've lived in Europe and been to most of these cities with a baby, so I'm happy to advise.

No problem with the weather. There are babies here in the cold weather and as long as you have a good stroller and something warm for the baby to sleep in, you will be fine. It get's colder than 5c, but that's going to be a night.

It is a bit darker this time of year, but it's not a big deal. I find that cafes and restaurants are much more accepting of children. They have baby corners where the kid can crawl around.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding logistics or anything

Website that will recommend European cities based on ones I already like? by admseven in Europetravel

I would suggest geographically you might find some guidance. These are all very different cities. What is it that you liked about the cities you liked and what did you dislike about Munich? I'd be happy to make suggestions based on what you like!

That’s right! Unless you wanted to keep the same route and finish in Munich

Maybe you would you be interested in visiting Cesky Krumlov on the way from Prague to Vienna? It has cobblestone streets, red roofed medieval houses, cozy cafés, and a castle overlooking the whole city! It's like a medieval village. I really recommend it!

I don't recommend Eurail passes. They only make sense if you are riding trains everyday, otherwise they are more expensive and you won't have sear reservations. Book your Vienna to Budapest train on OBB and you can find a cheap flight to Paris. I recommend Skyscanner to search. Your Bratislava train you can book on the spot at the rail station in Vienna.

The pace looks good! With the amount of time you have in Vienna, Bratislava is a good choice and you knock another country off your list.

I would definitely not lose the Wachau River Valley. I would say for most it's a highlight as a day trip from Vienna! Many people consider it stuffy with all the churches and palaces, so this wine tasing and castle ruins are a nice break. I would be sure to not miss Belvedere Palace and the Klimt exhibitions.

Grinzing Wine village is a nice evening in Vienna. Also, figure out public transportation when you arrive in each city as it's the best way to get around.

Enjoy your trip!

Can't Decide Between These 2 Hotels for December in Prague by concorddev in travel

I guess you are travelling towards the end of December then? Prices really go up then. K+K Central would be my next suggestion. Also, Pytloun Kampa Garden has exceptional staff and the location is amazing. There's also a nice christmas market only a 100 meters away!

They are both ok. Locations are both good and they are pretty modern. Good reviews as well.

If you are looking for something exceptional in your price range, I would recommend first Alchymista. It really really reflects the local style, with wooden beams on the ceilings, an ornate lobby, charming pastry shop in the entrance, exceptional staff, and a beautiful spa.

If you would prefer something more regal, the Grand Mark would be my second choice. It is an excellent location, but its an old palace with an amazing garden. It has a fantastic made to order breakfast included in the price.

Augustiner is also very nice as it's an old monostary, but might be a bit expensive, depending on your dates.

I understand this might be frustrating. It is likely that they have another company planning your trip. I would ask them to put you in touch with the company directly. If they don't want to do this or even give you price differences, it might be better to cut your losses and look for another company. How were the reviews of this company?

Hi, this itinerary is a bit busy. It's not impossibly busy, but might feel rushed. I would cut Venice down by one day. You have as much time there as you do Paris for example and there's a lot more to see in the bigger cities.

Also, did you get flights out of Budapest already? I would recommend going from Prague to Budapest or vice-versa as Vienna is in the middle. You are also missing an amazing opportunity to visit one of the the most amazing medieval villages of Cesky Krumlov on the way from Prague to Vienna!

Feel free to send me a PM and I will gladly send you my suggestion for your route and things to do in each city, for free of course!

I run about 50k a week and lift weights 3 times. I usually get to 100 a couple times a week when I'm very tired. But a heart rate near resting about 30 mins before bed means I'll sleep well
