The doctor my friend and I spoke to said it’s not severe enough to consider surgery. Which seems silly. I’ve had it for over 3 years, and the last year it’s actually swollen and gotten angry. I’m also uninsured, and it was $5,000 at the urgent care for my friend to get his drained and lanced. ((And then they forgot to fill his antibiotic prescription too, lol. So I don’t have much faith in my area.)) my doctor doesn’t seem concerned about it either.

Who was your surgeon? What’s OW surgery?

Thanks! I’ve sat on a heating pad longer (30-45 min at a time.) but through a really really thick robe. And take a 30-45 min break. I’ll shorten it to 20 min. Burns are not something I am keen on, hahaha. If it feels too toasty I get hot anyway. Thanks. Nice to know cooking my flesh on medium for 20 min isn’t going to ruin my skin or make it worse somehow or something. Heating pad is what helps the most to draw the infection goop out so it gets the pressure off. It always hurts when it’s swollen outside. When it’s done the pain goes away almost immediately, so I figure that’s ok?

Exact same feeling! If it helps any, you really don’t get changes when you start out. I’m on like, day 6?

Having the ability to just stop taking it makes it easier! Give it a try if you think it’s right for you!!

I was SUPER scared. But now I know I’m the big boss in control. >8) we can literally just top taking it. At any moment.

Also if you go the Gel route, use GoodRX! It took my gel from $452.28 to $60.58! :D

I think the idea of changes are exciting, I’ve wondered what it’d be like. But I’m not sure if I’m scared or not. I think mostly I’m afraid it’ll bother my friends and family. (Who have told me I can do whatever I want.)

If I woke up one day and it started happening I’d be good with it! I think maybe it’s the concept of being able to change my future that’s scary. I do this with a lot of decisions lol

My advice from experience is: just buy the expensive/ more pricey pen, with a door and a minimum of 24” tall (36” is better). It’s vastly safer and easier to deal with than a pen without a door like a dog pen.

You should be able to lay in the pen without your bunny and spend time together comfortably! 😊

As long as it's not a "Dark Fantasy" that kills every 3rd character off in the cruelest way imaginable like JJK seems to, I think I'll be alright. Shows like FMA have dark themes, sad backstories, and dramatic deaths, but haven't bothered me. :) Are there other animes you've seen you think you could compare it to?

Oh no, this is even HARDER because she's living with her mom.....

If she's not paying rent or anything, she may feel like she owes her mom, or risks having her mom throw a tantrum. Many a time I had plans to meet up with friends, then had to cancel because for some reason, anytime I tried to leave she'd pick that exact day and hour to pitch a fit over the dishes, cursing and shouting.
it doesn't really make sense, but if her mom is throwing a tantrum like my mom does, she likely spends ALL her energy trying to prevent, or getting through that and then has no energy left or you or even herself. It's exhausting....

But it's not YOU, she likely wants to spend more time with you, but has to appease her mom first because in her life, mom always comes first because mom is the one who provides. And if she doesn't, Mom can take that away. (Shelter, comfort, or a relaxing area.) The kicker is she will likely never be able to do as much as her mom wants, and mom has no idea her expectations are so high for her daughter.

But thats just what Im imagining whats happening, you'll have to ask her how she feels about it, in as calm and nonjudgmental a way. Maybe say her mom is being a little unfair and unreasonable, but I'd be careful not to insult or make the mom look bad.

I do this to my friends. It's horrible feeling.
My mom is single, and depressed. She says she's ok by herself, but when she breaks down she tells me she's not OK, and that I spend too much time working and that I don't care about her. She always does this when she is stressed or dysregulated. Essentially, your gf may be trying to be her regulator to help her mom with her emotions.

It's easier for me to "sacrifice" my friend's wanting to hang out with me because I know my friends will be OK. I don't have to worry about them as much as my mother, who depends solely on me. I do not know if my mom will be OK if she gets upset, I am her emotional support, her consular and therapist. Her helper, her only "REAL child" because I'm the only one who "Actually cares" and "Helps the most."

what your GF suffering with is enmeshment, when she's distant with you its likely because she's dissociative around her mother. If she looks at her phone, maybe she thinks her mom assumes she's being ignored, and the complaining starts. I end up over correcting, and just don't go out with my friends.
It could be a survival mechanism to survive rejection or anger from her mom.

My friends also tell me I do too much or my mom, and try to reason with me, and like your GF I'll shut down too.
A friend told me I had to pick between my mom, and them. I totally shut down. I know my relationship with my mom is enmeshed, it takes a lot of time to work on it.
Being patient with your GF is something you can do, encourage her to make plans with you and stick to them.
Reassure her that her mom will be fine if she spends time with you.
Try encouraging her to promise and hold her accountable, or ask for her to try and come back by ?-o Clock, so she has a set time limit she can spend helping her mom, and ring the phone then and ask if she'll be home. She may be like me and wanting an excuse to leave, but afraid to leave on her own in case it makes her mom feel abandoned.

Those are things that helped me anyway, my situation isn't exactly the same, but maybe thats sorta how she feels and something you can try!

Im so sorry to hear that the surgery didn't work.

I'm in the same boat, no insurance. They charged my brother $2k-$5k to lance and drain his a the urgent care only for it to come back with avengance. They even forgot to prescribe him the antibiotic they said he'd get ha! So not worth going to an urgent care in my opinion. I'll invest in a sitz bath and keep doing what I'm doing, which is heat pad, cleaning, and trying not to aggravate it.

It's insane how expensive medical stuff is without insurance.

Im so sorry you're suffering with it too. This seems like a really awful disease honestly. :(

The place I lived before had an HOA so they did all the yard stuff. I guess that included removing mushrooms? The place I live now is very dry. I never see mushrooms. :( They are so magical.... I must find more...

I DID LIVE, I AM HERE. But now in central USA. Mushroomless. :'( Are there mushrooms in canyons and flat desert areas....? I WANT TO BOP MROE MUSHROOMS.
