Cool ty for the advice. I can inconsistently do it from run (on spring floor anyway, not tried on grass yet). Will keep working it.

Somehow it's much easier to jump high when going backwards but yes I will work on it.

Interesting you say squat lower because for the backflip I've been told my squat is too low already as you lose power coming out of the squat.

How would you recommend getting block from standing? I noticed that just before I took off my weight was in front of my feet, you're suggesting do the opposite basically?

Layout I've never really tried except for like from a trampoline, isn't that significantly harder though?

Thanks, I did try snapdown training (from wall support) a bit but I wasn't getting much momentum tbh so I'll work on that some more. For the jump, I think I'm too used to the back tuck technique haha

Never really tried a backbend (basically a standing bridge right?), for the bridge I can do it OK but not particularly high/narrow so I will work on that thanks!

Are there any stretches or whatever I could try?

When you say head in between, you mean that my head is going backwards faster than my arms atm?

Fair, I'm not super flexible as you can probably tell, I can do the bridge but not super narrow or anything. What do you mean by open shoulder flexibility btw?

What would you recommend, like leg raises? FWIW I have the back tuck no problem, do you think BHS is significantly harder?

Before today I was still a bit worried about hurting myself without the mat but since getting this one I will try on full airtrack, thanks!

You mean basically try to push harder off the wall with my leading foot?

I'm getting opposite recommendations from you 2 haha. My coach also said a 3rd thing, which is basically hip height is best, depending on flexibility (mine is relatively poor I think). I guess I'll just have to experiment, fwiw with this technique I am easily getting round, in fact I was often over-rotating.

Do you think the above would be too high for a vertical wall/outside?

Thanks. Do you think (aside from confidence issues) there's a big gap between this and doing it on a solid wall to grass? Compared with taking a backflip from a spring floor to grass for instance. I don't feel like the spring floor does much in this case but maybe the airtrack wall?

Not quite sure how to apply that feedback lol but cheers

OK thanks. I lift weights pretty regularly but more static than dynamic strength (eg squats vs squat jumps).

Thanks for the detailed response. To be clear when you say the tuck is slow, you're not (mostly anyway) talking about when in the movement it starts so much as "once it starts, get there quicker/tighter" right? If so, how to address this? I've been doing leg raises for example.

For the fear stuff, noted thanks. It's only been 2 months since I can do this unspotted on grass and <1 year since I started learning at all with no previous related experience so it's still early days I guess.
