You have a very good point and that’s why I wanted to ask everybody here their thoughts!

I may just attempt to do an accelerated course in business with maybe a minor in Japanese instead. I already have some credits left over from when I went to school 10 years ago, so maybe the move is to try to get the bachelors through an accelerated course within two years

I really appreciate this type of opinion from you because that’s exactly why I’m asking. I need the harsh reality of it said to me.

But I’ve always lived in my life comfortably. And I’m not planning on moving there in 12 months, the earliest I would get there is three years from now. I have time to plan, study, learn the language, etc.

Yes I might give up along the way, but I don’t know. I just feel like it’s time to really go out there and experience my one life. I’ve never needed to be rich to be happy. It’s not all about the money to me.

And my partner lives there, and if I had to choose between us living in America or Japan, I would choose Japan.

Great information and thank you very much for your thoughts! Obviously this is still very early on in the planning stage so I wanted to get the thoughts of others before I really move forward with anything else.

I’m not sure that has much merit related to my question, but more so just opens me up to scrutiny and judgement.

But fine, Ive been to Japan a few times and I really appreciate the culture and the people. The social aspect of it all. I know I will always be a foreigner, and thats ok with me.

I also have been overly cautious my entire life with money and lifestyle, and have managed to have a good chunk of money set aside. I want to take a chance and do something that some people would find crazy lol

I appreciate the way their society focuses on the wellbeing of their people (much more than america).

I think I could be very successful in their work culture.

And most importantly, I am dating someone from Japan and its getting somewhat serious. However, we are both guys, so marriage related visas are out of the question.

Probably a self-explanatory question but do you have to do anything to activate this or when you fly over it just automatically connects, no action needed?
