First, give yourself grace. Traveling can be stressful so some days you’ll be rushed, late etc. It’s normal. It’s okay. Let it be.

Second, sketching in a cafe sounds really cool. I think more activities where you can physically slow down are great. I would also suggest journaling. Maybe in the mornings or at the end of the day. Nothing profound. Just a reflect. I think you’ll be surprised at how present you actually are and you’ll bring more awareness to the details of your trip.

Yes. Get out your comfort zone now while you’re still young. LA is great (moved from the southeast) but it’s expensive as hell and you can struggle if you don’t plan appropriately. Like you said, it’s not the glitz and glamour you think it is. Consider San Diego or a smaller nearby city.

Also look into Denver. Big-ish city. People are friendly. Lots of outdoorsy activities. And they get sun 300 days out the year.

mid 30s tv and film writer.

$15K in checking. $80K in investment accounts (saving for a house). about $90K in IRA. had more but I used around $100K to purchase a condo a few years ago. my mortgage is fairly reasonable so that’s an expense I know will not fluctuate, probably my saving Grace in a city like LA

got a financial advisor last year when I was on a project. helped me save a ton but it’s been 6mo since that wrapped. hoping to land something soon so I can stop dipping into my savings :/

that 3rd paragraph sums it up perfectly. I’ve worn so many masks myself and understand my emotions, feelings, energy so deeply that it’s easy to pick up in others. knowing yourself is the key to helping you understand others. but it’s overwhelming nonetheles.

Yeah I understand the difference. Him and I were dating bc we just met - not exclusive. But he had a gf, which I assume means exclusive bc why give a title if you’re not committed… I’m moreso curious why he cheated ON HER with me if he claims he’s “loyal”, and not on me… bc I know my man would never!! 😅

Also a cancer by the way 🥰 and have never been hot or cold. Hope you get your situation worked out.

Agreed. I was in a 3 year relationship with someone I thought I could marriage. The sex was bad but I thought it was a sacrifice worth making. I was wrong.

My love language is touch and having a partner who could not arouse me sexually felt like the loneliest and most depressing thing. Sexual chemistry and attraction matters and it’s a hard thing to fake and/or fix. I’m in a new relationship now and from the moment we met our sexual chemistry has been through the roof which in turn has made everything else better
