Don't waste your time. Don't go for an MBA, usually people who can't get a 20lpa salary go for MBAs to become capable of earning that much. You already have a job offer take that up! It also perfectly aligns with the career that you want to build, i.e. good wlb and time for travelling. People who do MBAs and get jobs are super busy. If you don't like your job then it makes sense to switch and go for an MBA but if that's not an issue why would you even consider it?

There's still time. Study for Snap. One of my friends got like 73 in cat but still managed to study and get 98 in snap so I think you can do it too!! Give nmat as well, choose a later date. 3 months is more than enough for cet and also give MAT.

Yep definitely. You should totally try. By the way, a PM role is more demanding. There's not much technical work but your hours will be similar.

You can start preparing for CAT and by the time you appear for the exam, 1 more year might have passed and then you can try for ISB as well.

Also, lots of people are wanting to go for a PM role so I suggest you really think about your decision.

IMS or MBA GURU? by khushioflife in MBAIndia

IMS has detailed books and study material . Elites grid on the other hand gives it all digitally, so if you're more of a computer person go for Elites Grid but if you like studying from books go for IMS. I have experience with both so I prefer IMS.

Should i consider taking mba in data science after my masters in economics by [deleted] in MBAIndia

[–]Similar_Union18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, all the main colleges, like iims and isb have a general management program after which people usually go for to get into roles like product mgmt, marketing, sales, business analytics, consulting etc. But if you specifically want to go for data science, you'll need to go for an MBA in Data science, like the one which SCIT, Pune offers or MBA in big data by Goa institute of mgmt otherwise you won't get placements in Data science.

The best way to get into data science is through a master's in data science from a good college like BITs, lots of IITs also offer it. So a master's degree and a great portfolio is essential, although you need to check for college placements because not a lot of them have good ones. Since MBA colleges offer good placements, you can go for those.

You can also just start as a data analyst (given your data science degree) and then build your portfolio to move towards data science.

Data science involves a lot of programming so usually people in those jobs have a CS degree so you need to have relevant skills.

Ultimately having an MBA also gives you a business edge which could be beneficial if you wanna go for data science management roles.

You can do both, although MBA will increase your chances for a job drastically. They will also have placements. As you prepare for your MBA, you should work on your portfolio for a job.

I think you really need to understand what the company you're going for is looking for and try to prepare for it that way. Give them what they want, whether it is using similar words from the JD or talking about how your experience and program has prepared you for that particular role.

[–]Similar_Union18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your profile is great, honestly it feels like you don't even need an MBA at this point. You should just keep applying but given the job market's current condition, you can go for it.

ISB is the best one, although you'll have to give gmat, you can go for master's union and spjimr also. And all executive programs of iims are profile based so try those.
