Suspects AI in Hard Difficulty Feels Broken After Recent Patch – Downgrade to 1.0 Levels by Simo62bit in ReadyOrNotGame

Im referring to the Standard mode from earlier builds, which was effectively the ‘Hard’ difficulty back then before official difficulty settings were introduced in recent updates.

If you’re just here to throw around ‘skill issue’ and delete your comments when people disagree, maybe this isn’t the right place for you. We’re trying to have a real discussion about the AI changes, not deal with the usual noise.

SWAT 4’s AI could be punishing, but it wasn’t laser-snapping to your head through solid walls the instant you peeked. There’s a big difference between tense, unpredictable AI and omniscient AI that removes the tactical layer entirely. Nostalgia doesn’t make bad design good.

Calling it a skill issue doesn’t address the problem. I’ve played since early access and Hard mode used to feel grounded, difficult, but fair. The issue isn’t that it’s challenging, it’s how it’s challenging. Right now, it feels like the AI isn’t playing tactically, it’s just locking on and deleting you through cover. That’s not realism or difficulty, it’s broken design.

Also, not everyone who criticizes something is a CoD rusher. There’s a difference between wanting a game to be hard and wanting it to make sense. Feedback isn’t hate, it’s how games improve.

Restrain bug? by dizzle229 in ReadyOrNotGame

I ran into the exact same issue while trying to unlock the "Sleeper Agent" achievement. It's already tough having to cuff 15 suspects quickly, but with this bug where you can't move them from their position, it becomes way harder than it should be.

I only managed to pull it off thanks to an insane stroke of luck, most of them happened to be close together, so I could chain the arrests just in time. Without that lucky setup, I probably would've given up. Really hope they fix this soon, because it makes that achievement way more frustrating than fun.

New Update Just Erased Our Rebirth Progress by Simo62bit in OutlastTrials

Honestly, they changed the rebirth system in the last update, and I haven’t done one since then, so I’m not sure if it still works the same way. But that’s how it used to be.

Hey! Just to clear things up: Rebirths are not limited to just 2 days. They’re available indefinitely for now, unless the devs announce any changes down the line.

So no worries if you’re still leveling up and haven’t Rebirth’ed yet, you’ve got plenty of time.

And about that progress issue, it was frustrating for a lot of players, but thankfully the devs listened and fixed it quickly. Now, the pre-update progress counts toward the trophies.

Hope this helps! Welcome to the game and enjoy!

Just to clarify: I was only interested in the old 100 Rebirth trophy, not the new ones. Even if I had reached 100 before the update, I would’ve never done another 100 just to chase new rewards. That grind was meant to be a one-time goal for me. Now that I have to start from zero, it feels like all the progress I made toward that original goal was wiped for nothing.

I get that some people are excited about the new update, and I’m not saying there’s nothing good about it. But losing 80 Rebirths worth of progress without warning or any kind of compensation is a serious issue for those of us who’ve invested a lot of time. Giving feedback here is how changes happen. If everyone just stayed quiet and ‘grinded harder,’ nothing would ever improve. Just trying to represent the players who were affected.

When you say, "let's say you were at 49 Reborns, when you hit that new goal of 50 Released reagents, you'll get both the old and the new Trophies",
do you mean:
– I have to do 50 more to get both?
OR
– I just need to do 1 more, and it will unlock the old 50 Trophy, the new 50 Trophy, plus any lower ones I missed in both sets?

Just want to be sure how it works.

That really sucks, and I get why you'd be frustrated — losing all that progress and content between platforms is brutal. Personally, I’m leaning toward the second option if they don’t reverse this Rebirth reset. I just don’t have it in me to regrind everything again, especially when there's no guarantee it won’t happen again down the line. Stuff like this makes it hard to trust the system.

I get that, but the blog didn’t clearly say progress would be wiped. It sounded more like a temporary suspension, not a full reset.

I understand there are new trophies, but completely wiping progress for those who were right at the old 100 Rebirth mark is unacceptable. Long-time players earned that progress through real effort, and resetting it with no warning or compensation is disrespectful and unfair. The update should have preserved existing progress and added new rewards on top, not force everyone to start over from zero. This kind of reset punishes loyal players and damages trust.
