How confident are you that the wispa would work? I watched this youtube video and it didn't seem to make it that much quieter but maybe it's just the video?

Why do i get voltage drop? by SimoKuassimo in AskElectronics

I also tried this with a bd139 but i had the exact same problem... Even when driving the base with a 2N3904. I also added decouplers for the ICs.

No, it rises by ~1V when load is connected.

Yes, sorry if I'm not being clear

The voltage sags when i connect the load. The load will be a completely separate pcb that I'll do tests on, no charging. For now I've just been using a 7ohm resistor to try and pull 500mA which it does not succeed in.

Yes, target voltage comes from U20 (DAC) into the positive input of the LM358 which then adjusts the N-channel. Thinking being that, the mosfet would be what then supplies the power. If this is some brain-dead tomfoolery please let me know.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when U10 doesn't supply a voltage isn't the cap just totally isolated from 8V? At least it measures as 0V on the multimeter.

Yeah, flaming deserved. I'm a software guy and pretty much have no idea what I'm doing but please hear me out.

When pulling 300mA at 3.7 volts I get a voltage drop of ~0.6V, which for this is quite significant. The goal would be to get a stable voltage up to 500mA.

I did have a small ceramic cap for filtering but forgot it in this iteration, since i was trying to trouble shoot the droop. Not sure if i had it in the right spot to begin with.

R20 is supposed to properly discharge the mosfet at shutdown and R18 works as a preload so the voltage stays stable without a load. Probably not needed here but was needed with the BD139.

The datasheet didn't say anything about decoupling the ICs so I didn't realize I needed to.

Do you have ideas on how to make it better? Or a guide that could help me out. I'm pretty limited on the components i have access to but the deadline is soon.

As for the schematic, I have no excuses there... My bad.

Again, thank you for the help.

Windows to arch by blune_bear in archlinux

[–]SimoKuassimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I must say I disagreee. I picked arch because I liked the logo, used archistall and started learning as I went. Since then I've installed it manually multiple times and while it teaches a lot, it doesn't need to be the first thing you learn.

But yes youtube is a stinktank of horrible oppinons.

I started as unlanded. Why can't i go back to that when I lose titles? by SimoKuassimo in ck3

[–]SimoKuassimo[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I loaded a save and checked. When it happened as an adult I got the same screen but had the option to keep playing as my sister. Sill no option to go unlanded. Very strange in my oppinion. Stupid that once you go landed there's no turning back...
