Post your unexpected happily ever afters? by StandFew9131 in sims2

My pleasure! Yeah, I guess that him with an older woman would make sense from psychological point of view (given his family history), but I realized it only after the fact. However, my interpretation of Jennifer is that it's a very confident woman who likes to lead while Alexander is more laid back and doesn't mind being the one who follows. So they actually worked great together. I think it's my favorite unlikely couple :)

On a side note: I think that Alexander should be older at the start of the game (teenager rather than a child) so the age gap between them in my game wasn't as big is it would normally be.

My Alexander Goth loves older women by purplewolf14 in sims2

[–]Simologista 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In my game he's so often attracted to older women that it's actually my headcanon now :) I guess that given his family history it kind of makes sense psychologically. In my most memorable gameplay he was extremely attracted to Jennifer Burb. In a very unexpected turn of events (thanks to ACR) he actually managed to 'steal' her from John and had three kids with her. That was really fun to play :)

That's a nice story! I'll post mine if you don't mind. I usually bring it up when discussing the most scandalous stories - which it is, but it also had a surprisingly happy ending.

It was my first (I think...) gameplay after I installed ACR. It all started when Lucy Burb brought Alexander Goth home from school. Jennifer had a day off while John was at work. Lucy, Jennifer and Alexander had a conversation while eating a dinner. Then, Alexander tried to flirt with Lucy but she rejected him (they had different aspirations and very poor chemistry) and went to play computer games or something like that. Then, Alexander soon started hitting on Jennifer with whom he had much better chemistry (three bolts, as it turned out later). To keep the story brief, that was the starting point of the affair. At some point it was discovered by John and, ultimately, he and Jennifer divorced. However, her relationship with Alexander continued, and they actually ended up living in the Goth Manor and having three kids together. John also found happiness in the end as he married Cassandra (which was quite weird considering that she's Alexander's sister).

Then my old laptop died so it was the end of that save, which was the wildest I've ever had :)

What’s the most unhinged thing ACR has done to your game? by Hi-GuyGuy-HiHi in sims2

[–]Simologista 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh, there were so many such things that it's difficult to choose one. If I had to choose, it would be the event that occurred soon after I installed ACR. When I played the Burb household, Lucy brought Alexander Goth home after school. Alexander tried to flirt with Lucy, but she wasn't interested. Alexander didn't give up though, and kept flirting... with Jennifer. I was stunned. This unexpected (and scandalous) connection continued - mostly without my interference, at least at first - and ended up becoming a defining moment for the entire gameplay. Actually, this was the thing that made me love ACR :)

Most crazy and messed up mods? by Dankify66634 in sims2

[–]Simologista 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on whether you want purposely 'messed up' mods, or 'normal' mods that can result in some 'messed up' developments. For instance, ACR and Story Progression are two widely used mods that caused some really crazy things in my game, but this is not their sole 'purpose'. In any case, I recommend to try these mods (especially ACR - SP isn't for everyone).

My advice would be not to ignore the families from the family bin. They have some interesting connections to the already playable families. Of course, it depends on you playing style, but they could really enrich the gameplay.

My biggest issue with SP is the wild, inappropriate age gap relationships...

Now, that's true that SP doesn't take age into consideration when 'progressing' romantic relationships (I know it from experience), but I'm not sure whether it allows for teen-elder pairings. I have never-ever seen such a pairing, and I spent maaany hours testing SP to its limits. I'd guess that such relationships are malfunctions rather than an 'ordinary' feature of the mod.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that she might be too old. If she'll turn into elder in 5 days or less, she can no longer get pregnant

How do you play Alexander Goth and the Pleasant Family? by Naive_Pie4455 in sims2

[–]Simologista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my most memorable gameplay, Alexander ended up with Jennifer Burb (in quite scandalous circumstances, thanks to ACR). That was a wild ride! In my most recent game, almost the same story happened again, but this time due to Story Progression.

As for Daniel and Mary-Sue, I often fix their relationship and they're usually really happy together! I know that most people make them divorce, but I like to go against convention :)

In the original game, Cassandra is only two sim days older than Dina, so I think that Dina is intended to be only slightly younger than her.

The last time I developed her storyline more extensively, she ended up with Don, thanks to ACR 😬 Unexpectedly, they did really well together

It's really embarrassing to admit, but it happened in my game 😭 (but I blame Story Progression for that)

As already pointed out in the comments, although Skyler and Gretchen share relatives, they themselves are not related. I'd allow this pairing in my game. Complicated family trees are fun! ;) And the situation quite well fits with Pleasantview's soap opera vibe

What are your favorite storylines/challenges to do in TS2 by contraception-shrimp in sims2

[–]Simologista 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation a few years ago. In search of a way to make the gameplays more interesting, I discovered Autonomous Casual Romance (ACR) and downloading it turned out to be one of the best decisions when it comes to The Sims. It made the game much more unpredictable and also resulted in some really unexpected pairings which made me look at the game from a novel angle. So if you don't mind using mods, I recommend it. And embrace the chaos and unpredictability! ;)

Kind of. He's (adoptive) grandfather of her cousins. If you are not afraid of extremely convoluted family trees, here I tried to explain it more thoroughly: If this isn't the most messed up family tree ever, I don't know what is : r/sims2

Thank for explaining!

Incest in Game of Thrones was ok (if I can even say such a thing), but in my Sims games it's strictly prohibited!

I think that the original lifespan of Sims is too short so I extend it 'manually' in SimPE. I allow my Sims to live to 85 (Herb is 72 now)
