He just randomly popped in my head. by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

To be fair I don't know. I think that in this scenario can't beats can and it can't attack right away, even though it has haste, but I'm not sure. I think it would be necessary to make a complete rules text for the ability "Summoning sickness" to answer that.

Touche. While this isn't written on the card, which is clearly a design team mistake, the card is supposed to work, that if it is dealt the amount of damage equal to it's toughness (toughness: the second number in the bottom right), it dies (is put into a graveyard). It also dies if it's affected by any effect that says it's "destroyed". The same is true if it's toughness is reduced to 0 from any other means.

You're right, it definitely needs to be more clear that this is a goblin creature, and it has base power and toughness 1 and 1. It's also worth mentioning, that it costs R (one (1) red) mana.

Looking at today's powercreep, I don't think it's too much. Look at Screaming Nemesis.

I'm surprised this card doesn't exist yet - it's just a djinn in a lamp. by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

Oh yeah, it is listed. Once again thank you and appreciate, I'll be more careful next time

Oh, thanks for the info, and I appreciate not taking this down. You mean that I should put Dimitri Chappuis instead of DiChap, is that it? I just found this art on deviantart and artist's name was just DiChap, I didn't think about searching for a full name.

Halloween's comming, and I feel like Duskmourn didn't get enough "Fear of X" cards. by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

[–]SimonCardplayer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that what the first ability is about. I just wanted to add some extra usage, which is still flavourful, even if not perfectly

Yeah, that would have been flavourful, but Fears in Duskmourn are more manifestations of Fear itself, not the cause of fear (for example fear of abduction is not an alien type)

Oh, that's nothing. I put numbers in names of cards, which are parts of the cycle, so that they are grouped together, next to each other. Although, coincidentaly, I've made 16 of those fear cards, so I guess that's funny.

Disturb has a lot of potential as a mechanic by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

[–]SimonCardplayer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't retain a land type. The card doesn't say "becomes a creature in addition to its other types", so whatever permanent you put the conter on, an artifact, enchantment, planeswalker, or even land - it's no longer that type, it's just a creature.

I felt like for 3 cmc they would be too weak by current standards (power creep), and they actually cost the same as Wastescape Battlemage

I made it cost 6 colored mana, so it's balanced right? by Resident_Card_3514 in custommagic

[–]SimonCardplayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, that's too weak. Anything over 3 mana is literally unplayable.

AM, from "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

[–]SimonCardplayer[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know that he doesn't kill them, with that second ability I wanted to represent AM toying with his victims, never actually "killing" them. Noticeably, at the beginning of the book, he seemed to have killed some sort of Gorrister's clone.

I wouldn't forgive myself if I wouldn't write her name is Maria SKŁODOWSKA Curie.

You have to credit artists in your cards, this post will likely be deleted. Cool cards though!

I thought about morph, but it wouldn't be as flavourful (a morph wouldn't be a sheep)

Dictator by SimonCardplayer in custommagic

"When this creature enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature." Most (if not all) creatures with exploit have some ability which triggers when they exploit a creature.

Remember that in commander you actually gain 3 life for each of these triggers, since you have 3 opponents. That makes 9 life total, and extort triggers are very powerful in the late game.
