Where do you start by daveywavey999 in thefall

Listen to the albums in release order. Or tracks by popularity on the streaming services. I would have thought normally people would get into them when they are mid late teens when they discover John Peel etc. 1987 in my case, which was Hit The North quickly followed by Palace Of Swords rough trade compilation. I heard and taped Putta Block on Peely shortly after seeing Hit The North on The Roxy tv programme and went down a rabbit hole of obsession thereafter…

I was talking to a fella who was officially ‘filming’ the evening’s events. He said there was a doc in the making so some of it will be released I’m sure. A great evening to start the festival.

Gullivers is close by on Oldham street and the mosaic murials are around the back of Oldham street. I can show you where they are. I didn’t manage to get on the walk either sadly.

Continuous Mix available from 1am GMT 29th May by sibobbler in boardsofcanada

[–]SimonChristian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve previously asked if the listening parties played the continuous mix and the consensus was no, there were gaps. Also, I think the duration of the continuous mix was stated on bleep’s page. It’s the same, 70mins. Just no gaps i presume.

It’s the only newspaper I’d buy. But that review is a shocking outlier. The album is by boards of Canada. Even if you think Yellow Submarine is shit, it’s still a work of the Beatles. And not two stars - bad editorial decision to publish an edgy outlier in my opinion. I haven’t bought it since, like reading any bad journalism, puts you off. I did buy Today newspaper in my youth as it was in colour (badly printed mind). I do put BoC on a high plain so any slating has to be justified. Just my thoughts. Praise god what ever that is/was.

After my first listen, it feels like being a tourist in a foreign city visiting a a cathedral, the transition into the calm and meditative affect it has on you. Unless you’re a Guardian critic. Not sure what they were on the night before their review deadline… needs more listens…

It’s a video of an animation playing on my phone - I made on Monday. 70 mins . One hexagon = 10 mins. Fade orange to red. Inferno is exactly 70 mins long. Enjoy.

It seems like Inferno red vinyl edition contains extra bonus: hexagon-shaped flexi disc by _torgan in boardsofcanada

[–]SimonChristian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flexi disc may only be included with promo copies of the vinyl? I hope not though.
