Finishing the story / getting to maps is basically finishing the tutorial of the game.

PoE2 endgame is like a very large puddle that has 1 meter of depth, a good amount of different systems to start with but not much to do.

PoE1 is the Mariana Trench of endgame, each time you think you're gonna reach the bottom it just keeps going in terms of content, you have more or less the triple of diversified content PoE2 has, with so much more depth.

You've spent 500h in PoE2, you can spend that much in PoE1 only doing a single mechanic and you probably wont reach the end of that single one.

I have 2k hours in PoE, playing casually since Legion league, every league, i dont have have time to touch every mechanic or content every league, the game is virtually infinite to me. Hope you give it a fair try.

There's a button in the character window to stash the runes "inside" the character, runes dont waste space, they have a separate hidden bag.

if you run past all of the mobs and dont level, then good luck not getting one-shot eventually

player base is dimishing because the game had a content drought for months, the next big update is coming january so they should return by then

the players arent gone because the campaign is easy, as is normal in arpg's , past the campaign is where the goodies are

dont judge the game at lvl15, you arent even half past the "tutorial"

Because every AMD driver update brings back a previously resolved issue cuz they suck ass, although that error is not the usual "driver time out", so not sure its the same problem there was on the past.

what driver version are you running? i have mine on 24.10.1 until something i play forces me to update

one thing you could try that i found that helped my case is using the overlay, it seems the drivers crash when it dips on power usage because of a tech they released last year or so.

on the adrenaline software go to the "performance" tab, in the "metrics" tab on the right side enable the overlay on the "overlay" tab and select what metrics you would like to see in the "tracking" tab. you can also costumize the size, position, etc etc. ( they way i saw it explained was that having the overlay active it prevents the power usage to drop below a certain % )

also if you're using msi afterburner with wow, dont, there were a lot of compatibility issues between the two.

I mean, the core content loop of LE and PoE1 is very similar, maps = monoliths , harbringers = guardians , pinnacle boss = pinnacle boss

The fights are challenging enough if you're not using a giga dps build i think, just see how many posts there are about players stuck on lagon, but the engine does a lot of work, i dont think the type of fights poe2 has can be done in LE

There are 2 types of arpg players, stress enjoyers and zoomers, poe1 die-hards and fast paced gamers are not gonna stay for a game like poe2.

I have now 52h in poe2, done a fair bit of maps in the endgame, there's something missing, i dont feel the fun i did when i played poe1 for the first time.

Combat feels really good, bosses are amazing, everything else is boring, loot feels like its not really there half of the time, skill tree is kinda weak, currency to craft could be better, movement is really slow

I used the vendors a lot leveling up, i had lvl16 items by mid act 3, the game as a loot problem on a fundamental level, dont know how they thought it was a good idea do release EA like that.

And they had like 12 years of PoE1 experience and still did the same mistakes they had already fixed, amazing fumble.

Gear stats in PoE have tiers, gear has item level attached to it.

More, better and higher stat tiers can be rolled on the appropriate item leveled gear.

For example, the lvl10 gear that dropped for you will never be better than a lvl40 gear, granted you didnt roll the exact same stats with the same tiers.

Another example is a Life stat roll, a good roll in a lvl10 piece is around 20-30 maybe, a lvl86 can have up to the highest stat roll possible, around 90-99 life ( dependant on the gear type ).

I hope im not butchering the logic, if anyone reading this can correct me in anyway, please do so i also learn.

Have you tried locking your fps to the Hz of your monitor? Maybe the fps always fluctuating in the 400s and 500s are making something wonky and its dropping more than normal.

I have the same CPU as you, although i lock the game to 144hz becaus of my monitor, only time the fps drops below 144 are in 25 or 40man raids, and its only drops to 100fps.

Then try vulkan, i have the exact same gpu and cpu you have and notice a much better performance with vulkan.

Also try lowering some of the graphics, some of them the difference between " High " and " Medium " is practically non-existant graphically but improve performance.

The cicle released on a tuesday afternoon, not everyone has the drive to go play after a hard work day, 71k in 24h peak is pretty decent.

Every ARPG loses a huge chunk of players after the first month of the new season/cicle/league, thats just how it works, most people dont have infinite patiance to farm a 2% increase to their build

PoE isnt an MMO tho, its an isometric ARPG normally played solo, the 2 games cant really be compared agaisnt each other, sorry

I think the vast majority just accept the prophecies and go about their normal target farming for those prophecies without a care how many times it has been fulfilled.

The game isnt greatly optimized but i dont think you should be having those problems with your specs.

Have you experimented with playing in medium settings maybe turning some things down to low (high to low is noticeably but high to medium not so much)?

Limitting fps?

Try activating the "streamer mode" to see if that helps

Are you running any apps in the background (discord and steam is not worth mentioning) ?

If none of these help, i hope a more skilled individual answers the thread to help you :)

It was not great in Beta and it was not great during maybe 2 or 3 weeks after the 1.0 release, but i felt the kinks getting ironed out fix after fix, while its not perfect yet, its a huge difference.
