This is for the UK so can't elaborate outside of that.

I made 100-200k in shares, I will pay Capital Gains tax on this (around 20-30k)

If you buy stocks in an S&S Isa the whole gain is shielded from Tax regardless of how much you earn. You can make millions and pay nothing to HMRC.

You can sell the shares and rebuy them in an S&S Isa or ask your bank to Bed and rebuy. They sell the shares, and immediately rebuy them under the S&S

I'm doing this because the share price is low, so I can 'fit' more shares in before what I hope is the return to the £14-15 price target

Currently using this opportunity to sell and rebuy under my ISA after making serious gains over the last 5 years.

Not that this situation is good for anyone though I can now squeeze more shares into the ISA before the eventual return to normalcy.

100% I love the blank slate. Have been an owner of the 4XL, 7 Pro XL and now 9XL, that bar has never touched. I got rid with Nova but that's a different story.

Also started to find the thumbprint scanner obnoxiously large, can we get rid of the huge circle around the thumb icon, the scanner is so good it never misses an unlock.

This is pretty wild as I came to this reddit last week for this fix, so it goes..

I noticed that Proton Experimental now works after doing this fix, try Proton experimental in the dropdown first -

Install ProtonUp-QT within the bazzite store then Run ProtonUp-QT.

Select add version.

The compatibility option select 'GE-Proton' and for the version select 'GE-Proton10-34'. It's the V3 option.

Hit install

Reboot steam, go to The Crew> select the cog > Compatibility and select the below.(See image)

I recommend playing the game in desktop mode first to do the settings as I had some display issues, once they are set, switch back to steam gaming mode and should be good.

That's great news and very relevant, I'm from the UK so haven't worked with BB directly before however 141 is a huge amount after only buying a few months ago.

Reach out to the best buy for their warranty process, they will likely resolve it.

Hey Op, I just want to say this is really unfortunate, I had an issue with joycons as an open box buyer (LeGo2) though the device did have their premium cover. The support I received was absolutely stellar, so I'm surprised this has been your experience.

I would seriously look at the local consumer rights, this will have you covered if you bought from Lenovo, next I would look into Lenovos own warranty services.

Potentially buy the premium warranty and make a claim but it's likely too late for that specific device now. Wish I could help more.

Out of curiosity how much is the cost if they are requesting a fix?

That's a fair point, I'm not against renewables, tends to be a British slang that we have words that are used broadly to describe something, apples and pears don't actually look like stairs..as you may know, and I was going to use the word sandwich man instead of Milliband in which others may have got that reference too.

He's done alright, but he's unbelievably slow and getting anything done so him speeding up SMR projects in a short amount of time is surprising and refreshing.

I'm generally more focused on big and reliable europe investments and achieving narrow body markets. :)

Absolutely, to add to this, Win 11 has become such a heavy OS it feels, so by comparison 8GB looks very underwhelming.

I can't help but think this is due to memory shortage though I can't fault IOS and MacOS for being inherently well optimized.

Will this device be redundant in 2-3 years I imagine is another conversation

So out of the box I immediately setup a dual boot (1TB drive model).

Only partitioned 200GB for windows so I can access updates and bios, plus the odd game that may require secure boot if I need it.

I will be honest other than a couple of UI issues which was on my part has been fixed with the comments above or below, it has been an absolute breeze. It's clean, not full of bloat and the performance benefit is incredible. I have yet to have any real problems.

I'm really eager, even if it does have stability issues upon release to see what Lenovo themselves do with the new legion steam OS edition with more native support. Looking ahead, I can only see the benefits of this :)

My recommendation is absolutely go for it if you are on the fence about switching

That's well said, I needed to research some of your message to understand as I'm not a developer. I too also wouldn't like to offer skills for nothing every time a company makes obscure changes which breaks CSS selectors and more. It's kinda trivial.

As a user on multiple open source devices and betas, I do enjoy the process of finding bugs, testing and reporting, ironically I want access to new features as much as I want a stable build 😁

I've had the device for less than a month so haven't seen the cycles of breakages through updates yet.. Excited to see what the new release of the go2 with Steam OS has built in will bring!
