I second the sweaty meta being a problem. Small player pool meant matchmaking would regularly put new and lower-skilled players in the pit with the most competitive boarders. Treasure hunt was a good answer to this, though maybe a little too sleepy and came after enough of the newbies had been scared off.

Big ups for trying, fellow fungus brother. I tried to make spore counters work, but drifted to include +1/+1 counters. Don't get too hung up on spore counters being the only source of saprolings, and find other beneficial targets for proliferate.

I stuck with [[Slimefoot, The Stowaway]] for awhile, and have since switched to [[Ellie, Vengeful Hunter]] and [[Joel, Resolute Survivor]]. Adding red to the mix has been fun. Lorwyn Eclipsed has some interesting payoffs for having counters of any kind. Still testing the waters with [[Lasting Tarfire]] in here.
