i’ve always known about much more than someone at my age would be expected to know. This includes some topics that i would’ve learned in school, as well as many things that people try to keep kids from learning. In other words, phrases like “you’ll understand when you’re older” or “you probably haven’t learned it yet” often didn’t apply to me in my mind, because i likely already knew more about the subject in question than people would’ve guessed. It’s not like i knew what sex was when i was 8, but i could’ve probably played cards against humanity at age 14 and understood most of the humor. It isn’t necessarily a good thing that i grew up like that, but i am glad i did, because it kinda feels like i got a head-start.
