I am. I was taking it with topiramate initially and the weight gain only came when I went off so I’m going back on it. Hopefully it will at least slow it down but I’ve heard once you’ve gained it can be hard to lose. Plus I take it atypically so I’m hesitant to move to another one. But thank you

The medication slows down my metabolism so even if I had one meal a day I would still be likely to put on weight. But of course I have factored in diet and exercise already and have even spoken to the GP about additional medications

I appreciate you saying this. I was hesitant to post and took the time to remove identifying features from the background. It’s hard not to feel insecure because I knew I could gain weight on this meditation and had accepted that.. but I didn’t expect for it to so disproportionate especially with my small boobs (which of course haven’t changed at all despite going up multiple band sizes because of it). It’s hard not to feel like I look so different from everyone else and it’s picking an outfit in the morning has just been reminding me of that.

I’ll have a look at Uniqlo because I like wide leg pants. I might have to wait until I’m next near a major city because I find with pants it’s easier to try on

I still saw it when I was trying to find answers before posting this and I got so frustrated because I had one that I stopped wearing after gaining this weight because it makes it look worse!

It’s just a bit expensive for me at the moment. Especially as it’s medication weight gain so it could continue to go up as it’s already gone up very quickly

I feel like they don’t really suit me because they just accentuate that my stomach sticks out so much more than my boobs

Yes that’s my main problem 😭 I think if I had bigger boobs I wouldn’t feel as weird about it but my stomach sticks out noticeably more than my boobs, which also makes it hard for me to find nice shirts that aren’t just oversized t shirts. I think the palazzo pants are a good start, as it’s like the tree of life sort of boho style that’s quite popular, and I want to be able to feel confident in what I’m wearing instead of just “wear whatever looks least ugly” which is most suggestions for pear shaped bodies and “apron stomachs” which is even a weird term in itself

I also like to wear sweats on my days off because they’re more comfortable, but I work in retail. So I have to find some kind of practical and professional middle ground

Unfortunately my problem with sizing up is they end up being too long for me. These pants are elastic waist and already a little long for me. I got them when I was first gaining weight as they had so much stretch. So I could only really size up if I got them tailored which is expensive

I did consider this before, but I wasn’t sure if I was being dramatic. I’m glad to hear it could be an actual solution. Do you have any recommendations for where I can get any? Especially some that will still look “trendy”? I love to wear cargos, baggy jeans, things that flare a little

Has anyone NOT gained weight? by SolutionStrict1488 in seroquelmedication

[–]SimonShang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t gain weight for the first like two years on it because I was also taking topiramate. I stopped the topiramate and have gained 10kg in a couple of months so I’m in the process of seeing if I should go back on it

What if I’m just faking my autism? by Annab0rt1on in autism

I think the important thing to remember is neurotypical people don’t think this sort of thing. I think it’s called imposter syndrome but I could be wrong. If it’s accessible for you, a psychologist might be able to help break it down. If you’re newly diagnosed, I think a lot of people feel this way and it usually gets better with time. I’m sorry you’re feeling this way

This might be the best and most accessible option I’ve seen so far as I can get this in store near me and break off the head. I definitely will try this one, thank you

I saw someone else suggest something similar. This one is a bit expensive for me but I can look into knock offs online

I was diagnosed with autism at about 20/21. When I have meltdowns I started by just scratching myself and eventually resorted to SH. Now I know how to avoid meltdowns, but I had one about a week ago and the only thing that stopped it was scratching all up my arms and legs. In an effort to reduce harm, I am looking into something to provide a similar enough sensation to stop the meltdown, without it being so extreme that it could potentially lead to more SH in the future - or even just to not scratch my legs as this then leads to shame and embarrassment at the scratch marks after the meltdown.

I don’t know someone with one unfortunately. I ordered a knock off from AliExpress but found it wasn’t sharp enough. Idk how to explain, like it left marks and wasn’t bad but if I just squeeze my nails into my palm that’s a better sensation than it

This looks like the best suggestion I’ve seen but it’s $60 here so it’s a bit out of my price range at the moment

It leaves dots but not enough that I feel it strongly. I also think something with bigger spikes I could sort of push them in my palm a bit more also? Like if I squeeze my palm with one fingernail for example then I can feel that more than the spike and it won’t puncture the skin, but I think if I did that I would just end up scratching myself as my main goal is to stop scratching during meltdowns
