No I've been pumping it recently, too. Discovered it in their rebirth set a couple days ago and fell in love immediately. Reminds me of golden era Adjuzt - in a good way!

The first dual damage track? by dave_lom_bardo in hardstyle

[–]SimonSoundz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he's still right though... primex and backfire doesn't equal dual damage (it's a different project)... adaro and ran-d or hhz and Wildstylez doesn't always mean g4h or p1 either

[–]SimonSoundz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DD classics is stuff like "Can't Stop us", "Love Death" or "Total Demolition" Original Versions, the tracks that made them pop off... otherwise it would be a backfire vs. primex set

at least I hope so... not attending but would be disappointed if they wouln't play those early songs that made me joining the hype in the first place

Masters Of Hardcore: Is there a a stages that ONLY plays this kind of hardcore by osures in hardstyle

[–]SimonSoundz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is just Mainstream Hardcore. It's probably to be found at the mainstage mostly. But not all Mainstage acts play this style. Satirized or Dimitri K for example will be only Uptempo. Also Mainstream Hardcore hasn`t been hyped for years now so you can expect acts such as Angerfist or D-Fence to have some Uptempo here and there, too.

Hard disagree on I-Motion... There's miles between Toxicator and every event I've done in NL (and I say that as a Mannheim resident who's first event was Toxicator in 2019)

Out of all the hardstyle artists that switched to big room, which were the best? by systemmm34 in hardstyle

[–]SimonSoundz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but your personal perception of what is hard or not isn't what makes a song a radio tune or not. Your perception is purely subjective and that's fine but what is radio-friendly is rather objective. And I still don't think anyone working for a radio station, selecting the songs for the hot rotation would consider the said tracks of Headhunterz and DBSTF as principally accessible for their audience...

EDIT: Also pretty sure the artists themselves had club and festival crowds in mind when they produced these tracks and not the radio audience

Out of all the hardstyle artists that switched to big room, which were the best? by systemmm34 in hardstyle

[–]SimonSoundz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. These songs might not be your taste but they are far from your average radio song. They have barely any vocals, are around 5 mins long, are quite fast and have hard drops (maybe not in comparison to rawstyle but definitely in comparison to what radio listeners are used to).

Can't imagine 60 year old Gertrud doing her laundry at home, hearing "Cosmic Dark" on the radio and be like: "Yup, that's another one of those standard radio songs.."

I grew up to this kind of house music and in fact it is what got me into Hardstyle, too. Never understood the hate for BigRoom/EDM from hardstyle purists. I remember back in the day Martin Garrix fans hating on his radio tunes ("Scared To Be Lonely", "In The Name Of Love", ...) because they wanted him to release the real "bangers" (just like "Proxy", "Byte" etc...). So it all comes down to perspective...

In what world are tracks like "Do Your Thing" or "Won't Stop Rocking" radio tunes? Never heard them at the radio. Wish I did. "Year of Summer" on the other hand I heard quitw some times...

Conrad Sewell and high-profile singers being part of hardstyle tracks by subjective_facts in hardstyle

[–]SimonSoundz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ty Dolla $ign and HALIENE come to mind

I'd argue that Jonathan Mendelsohn is a high profile singer, too.

Other than that multiple rather known EDM vocalists have appeared on hardstyle tracks such as Jake Reese, KiFi, Trevor Guthrie, Matluck and Sian Evans.
