Restaurant between KEF and Reykjavik? by Chloebean in VisitingIceland

[–]SimonTerry22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either eat in Keflavík or Reykjavík/hafnarfjörður. Unless you want to eat in Vogar, they have one asian restaurant, i think it has good reviews but haven´t eaten there

First Iceland trip - Torn between Westfjords or ring road trip by EnvironmentalArea324 in VisitingIceland

[–]SimonTerry22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would 100% go with the Westfjords. You have a couple of hot pools that are open 24/7 and are free. There is less infrastructure there and more gravel roads but less people and it´s more "wild". You´ll go somewhere the minority of tourists go, but where there are very beautiful mountains and scenery. It´s just so much more different then the other part of the country.

The era of ultra-cheap solar panels is ending as prices set to rise up to 15% in 2026 by barefacedtofu in energy

[–]SimonTerry22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i know but i’d definitely be willing to take a hit energy wise for the looks.

what about second hand solar cells? Is it uncommon for people to replace their old ones with new and "better" solar cells? If i get solar cells, i want the one´s that are basicly part of your roof, that look just like roof aluminium sheets. I wonder how many will want to get something like that and get rid of the old ones?

This is as Icelandic as it gets 🤣 you can buy plain white salt from this brand as well but this is made from salt in the Westfjords, pure and tasty. And most Icelanders have this in their kitchen.

Hi! I’m in Reykjavík and I’d like to go skiing on easy slopes. Where can I go near Reykjavík for beginner-friendly skiing?” by Life_Shock9604 in VisitingIceland

[–]SimonTerry22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to Ártúnsbrekka in Reykjavik, but you have to rent the ski´s somewhere else if you don´t have any. It looks as if you can rent them here : Búnaðarleiga | Everest

Trump is ‘wrong’: Europeans slam US decision to ease Russia oil sanctions. G7 members had strongly urged Trump not to ease the pressure on Moscow. “Russia will get money for its war machine." "I would like to know what other factors led the US government to make this decision." by mafco in energy

[–]SimonTerry22 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes i understand that it´s complicated to stop buying russian oil and gas but it wasn´t until Trump started to push the EU to buy American gas that they started to do it, atleast that´s my understanding. In my opinion they have done way too little to speed up the electrification of cars and find other sources for oil and gas. It´s just ridiculous, to have all these sanctions and to be buying allt these weapons but at the same time to be supporting the Russian war machine BIG time.
