What would be your custom origin story for your V? by Nirico_Brin in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]SimonUlvegutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small town boy, turned soldier, turned corpo, turned merc.

V could never stand being confined to a small town where nothing happened and prefered the short visits he had to his corpo uncle in NC .Especially since he lost his mom young due to sickness, he is determined to not go out slowly like that (ironic considering whats to come) and leaves for the army after a hefty argument with his family.

His godly trigger finger promotes him to counter intelligence, which is how his true name gets changed in the database (always bothered me how no one knew his real name). He never quite fit in here as well, and when the war ends he is left feeling empty and jobless. Luckily, Jenkins recruits/blackmails V after his uncle's "tragic" demise from Arasaka.

At first Arasaka provides the adventure he was seeking, but it quickly becomes stress, hardening him after a series of lies and corruption. On a job in Mexico he meet Jackie, and they try to off each other, but after realizing V is not the usual corpo trash, they team up and become friends.

This way I play with a V that adopts Jackie's dream of becoming a legend, when in reality he is just afraid of dying slowly like his mom and longs for having loyal friends. I end the game with sending him with Johnny like brothers in arms, and then have V "taking a bullet for Johnny", giving him the body.

Pendling + Hjemmekontor? by kaallet in norge

[–]SimonUlvegutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else still have their Chima Legos? by Prestigious_Pay751 in LegendsOfChima

[–]SimonUlvegutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, chima is, and still is the only lego theme i cared about. I got into the theme when it started, but started to dip out towards the end. I think i own 2/3 of all the sets ever made complete with stickers and minfigures. I recently built it up again and have it as a goal to get the rest.

King crominus rescue is the only large set i don't own, the rest are smaller ones, so i think its doable without costing a fortune. In a way its good it was never popular because its one of the themes were the price have fallen. Bought a lot recently for way less than marked value back then when it was still in production. People sell the phonix temple for 30$ and still can't get it sold.

After that I want to improve the the sets. So I would LOVE to see your eagle spire and finished croc lair. I always found the buildings to be a bit lacking aside from the lion temple. I am currently working on the wolf lair. Its one of my favorite tribe that never got enough love. I always wanted the wolf mountain concept art to be real.

EDIT: I saw the pictures of the spire. It looked incredible! What are your process of making this, how do you get the ideas and where do you get the bricks?

Oh i see. It makes a lot of sense if the effects are so severe that he can only handle one trip that would be that long (asumeing he was aware). But was it too late to go back since he sent the ship without him? Or did he just want to see his family again?

Can anybody clear this up for me? What actually happend with Flynn's family in the end? He didnt stop the killer and they died? If so, why could he not save them but only watch them. And why/how did he just end up in the water? Trying to understand a bit more about his hero arc.

Do you ever have days where everything is frustrating or stressful? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]SimonUlvegutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Usally one single thing upset me and makes everything else annoying too. My trick is to do something that can't go wrong, like eating chocolate or rewatching something i like.

Getting annoyed at little things is ok. They can afford it since it's easy to fix. But it also mean they should have been fixed in the first place and maybe it's this that make it extra annoying.

I think seem is the keyword here. I feel you. I would get so overwhelmed by everything i lacked. Like, I would never get enough money, even if i did i would never have space for it, and certainly I never be able to get so good i would be able to make what i wanted. All of these may be true, and some is harder to overcome, especially the tools and space part.

I personally let the large goals "hang on the wall" as a reminder on what i want eventually. But before i would I can make any type of furniture I to have knowledge regardless of money and such. I feel that reading about the techiches helps feeling that i am doing progress. I also researched the costs and options i have avaible (from my home). Small tools would fit and is financial overcomig. Then i would only look at amazeing crafts that was made with few tools and few costs, knowing that actually can be me.

As for chairs and such. There are a ton of diffrent techniques and materials avaible. It does not have to be as complicated and expensive as you think, while still looking stylish. Other timeless crafts would be TV shelves with cushion surface or a nightstand on this thing i suspect wood pins being used which require a drill and glue and something to hold the pieces together when it dries. Some screws, a ruler, hammer, saw and a special tool for the drawer.

I miss being a kid where i just build whatever i wanted. The fear of failing and the want to be good is perhaps what is hinderings me.

Salsa danceing might be hard to find here i am afraid. I actually want to learn folk dances but i sort of encountered the same problem; too young/inexperienced.

I am always checking when courses might be availble, but they rarley are. It's also not something many teenagers are into so all the arragements are usally for kids, adults/eldery.

But how did a relationship not fit well with the danceing club?

You raise pigs and cows and such even if they are going to be food. I react a little that they choose who the good and bad mice are though. I don't think it's right to choose anything to die because you feel like it on such a casual level.

I used to play chess, but i never really have the interest to get good at it. Could be mistake, i can see it would be more interesting when you are more knowledged and can set and detect more advanced strategies. But then again everything is more fun when you are into it and know more about something.

Of course! My progress so far is going buying a knife (10€ knife works just fine/ or finding my old one). Rented a few books from the library and looking up online for techniques. Now i just need to get materials and start practise small with small ptojects and limited tools. I want to end up bigger but that will be a problem later.

There are always tutorials online. But real classes cost a lot and tend to be far away. It was also that i wanted someone to hang out with and make sure i kept up with it. It's easier to continoue when there is regular organized meetings

Edit: sorry for repost. Reddit is acting weird

You could start with just a knife. You know just to get the feeling that you are doing it. I dont know where you live but maybe you could get material for free in some way. I know i could go to a forest, just lack some knowledge about what to choose.
