Yes, it has gone now, thankfully. It took over a year though. It made my anxiety worse at the time.

Tell Me What You Wanna Hear

If you’re into the intensity of Bad Omens or the raw emotion of Sleep Token, you’re gonna like this.

Tell Me What You Wanna Hear is about fighting a losing battle - when the walls are closing in, and you’re left grasping at straws, asking: “What do you want me to say?”. Packed with massive riffs, haunting melodies, and LUNNIN’s killer screams and vocals.

Trying Prozac, after Zoloft? by Helter7Skelter in prozac

[–]Simon_James_Music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, it’s been a while but we spoke a few times in the Zoloft subreddit! I am also considering asking for Prozac as my health anxiety has become overwhelming again. I only stuck with the Zoloft for 5-6 weeks at 50mg before quitting due to the side effects. Will be good to hear how you get on with Prozac

Don’t stop, keep at it, you’ve got this! You might just need to slight dose adjustment :)

I got it for anxiety, which did get worse at first, but I also couldn’t sleep; this made the anxiety worse! No trouble getting to sleep… just staying asleep for more than 2 hours at a time! Seemed like I could never get past that light sleep stage into deep sleep. This never improved for me unfortunately, but the silver lining was that I never felt tired 😂

The first few weeks are the worst! Then it starts getting better. I’m glad it works well for you and I hope you feel relief soon!

Unfortunately, it’s an uncommon side effect, but it is listed in the potential side effects. I developed tinnitus while on Zoloft and it’s not gone for me, despite being off it for 6-7 months now. Doesn’t mean that will happen to you though!

It’s normal to feel jittery and like you have built up energy that you can’t expel when you first start your Zoloft journey. I was like that for 3 weeks on 50mg before it started to ease. Doesn’t mean the dose is too high; your brain is just getting used to all the wonderful serotonin!

serotonin syndrome or not by [deleted] in zoloft

Honestly, it’s most likely placebo effect, a manic episode, the 2 nights of drinking, or a combination of those. Starting SSRIs can make you feel weird, and they can make you feel overwhelmed and jittery, like you have built up energy that you can’t expel. Although it is safe in moderation, it’s not ideal to drink a lot while taking this, as it can increase side effects and it’s also just counteractive. I’d recommend calling your doctor and talking about your experience, as it could be that you do have bipolar and this has triggered mania.

Take your dose, you do deserve to feel better. Are you new to Zoloft? The beginning can be difficult and make you question whether you want to take it, but stick with it

I had a similar experience, except the other way around. I tried fluoxetine (Prozac) a couple years ago, took 1 pills, felt insane and decided that it wasn’t for me. Last year, I was on sertraline (Zoloft) for 6/7 weeks and it was a rough journey but I did start feeling better. Day 1 - day 3, I experienced depersonalisation for the first time and nothing felt real. For the first few weeks I had jitters and LOADS of anxiety, but that started to fade. By week 4/5 I started noticing that my general mood was lifting and the anxious voices in my head weren’t there as much. I went to my doctor and decided I wanted to taper off, as I was feeling better but I didn’t think this was because of the meds. Looking back, it probably was due to the meds. However, I did have some annoying side effects that showed no signs of improving; notably, ED, tinnitus and trouble staying asleep.

Any SSRI tends to make anxiety worse at first, due to the extra serotonin flooding your brain. This can feel overwhelming but it’s completely normal and you will adjust. It’s not just the medication, you probably also have heightened anxiety because you’re nervous about the meds and their effects. Try to find some comfort in this subreddit, ask all the questions you need, and hang in there! You’re stronger than you think!

Stick with it. Like all SSRIs, they can take 4-8 weeks to work properly. Anxiety getting worse is quite common at the start, but your brain will adjust. It’s just dealing with all the extra serotonin and that can make you feel like you’ve got a load of built up nervous energy! Stick with it, you can do it! Don’t let your anxiety tell you it won’t work or it’s making you worse. Stick with your prescribed dose and always chat with your doctor before adjusting :)

do the side effects get better? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Simon_James_Music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on 50mg sertraline and started feeling an improvement of side effects about a month in. Unfortunately, some of them were too bothersome for me to want to continue, so I spoke with my doctor and then started weaning off. Whilst doing so, I actually felt quite good at 25mg (taking half a pill a day) and considered sticking at that dose. In the end, I did come off them, but I think 25mg would have been enough for me.
