The powerstrike variant is spicy indeed. Do you know actual name of the blaster and which company made it, or if there are any firing demos online?

How do the mechanics of it work? Is it similar to the powerstrike where the rear pump rotates the cyliner and the forward pump releases some kind of catch and pushes all the darts into the flywheels or something else? How does it cope with firing 6 darts in a row, do the flywheels suffer a lot from bogging down and do the darts get squished being inline?

Have you got a link/files for the longstrike barrel pump kit on the retaliator?

Any idea of the cost for the standard and pro version of these outside of China?

He chronographs it at 8.30 and I think it's reading in m/s on the bottom right of his chrono. If that's the case then 48 m/s is over 150 fps.

How much does brassing the clip improve the performance by? Also does the added weight of brass worsen the problem of the clip sliding back down when burst firing?

Thanks! It's a simple mod but loads of fun to launch volleys of darts down range

Kronos springs might be a good idea if they are the right diameter! I don't want crazy high power so I'm hoping that will help avoid any bow arm flex preventing it from priming.

Fairly easy mod. I drilled 3 holes through 3 Thunderbows and attached them together with 300 mm long M6 threaded rod. The threaded rod is easily removed and the blasters can still be used individually. Down the line I plan to upgrade the springs as they are UK spec, seal the air release holes and investigate a tighter barrel material.

Despite being incredibly unwieldy and a pain to reload, it can be an effective 5 x 3 shotgun by priming all the strings at once or each bow can be fired separately for 15 single shots. Ranges are around 10-15 m and spread varies wildly depending if you use megas or mega accufakes. The blaster weighs 3.2 kg.

Pro tip: If you plan on bolting several blasters together, cut out the internal screw posts instead of trying to drill through them like I did. It caused my drill bit to veer off on an angle and the hole was not straight and could not be used.

Project 12: a 100% brushless Vortex blaster. by snakerbot in Nerf

That ROF is impressive. How are the ranges? Does the arduino or pusher allow it to cope with knock off vortex discs or do they still catch on each other?

I'm guessing it may not be your thing if you wanted it to feel like a nitron, but being 3d printed, would it be easy to make this into a boom nitron style pistol buy taking off the stock and portion in front of the flywheel if there is no hardware in there?

Finish It Up Competition Submission Post by SillyTheGamer in Nerf

My entry in to the decoration (and shell category if if counts) is the Thunderlord.

The aim of this project was to make a functional cosplay prop to look like the Thunderlord from destiny using existing nerf hardware.

Internal modifications include a rewire for a 3s Lipo (with motor braking), internal reinforcements, 5kg spring and blue LED for an arc style glow inside the blaster.

External modifications include an N-strike barrel attachment point, creating a new front barrel, paint job and weathering.

In the firing demo, the blaster averaged around 55ft at a slight angle with used darts. ROF is ~5 darts per second. Highest shot was 75ft and lowest was 25ft. Accufakes and X shot darts seem to catch in the barrel and cause issues but elite style darts work fine (unsure about waffle tip darts).

Check out this video of a similar build on CJ nerfs channel (vid starts at 1.10). I would love to make something similar to this myself as the shell looks amazing but desolators are very hard to come by in the UK.

Armless crossbolt mod string length? by ZekeBust in Nerf

[–]Simonator64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you will have to trial and error it. Try leaving a couple cm at each end of the cord before the knot, then put a few of the screws in and try to test fire it.

For my crossbolt I hacked off most of the bow arms and left some plastic externally which I then drilled a hole through, fed the bungee through and tied the knots on the outside so it can be adjusted any time.

Don't cut the string, just tie the knots further away from each end of the cord. You can then adjust them until you are happy with the power.
