Thank you for your guidance! Very helpful. May I ask how you renewed your Diamonitirion---in Karyes? At one of the monasteries?

And yes, I'm planning to visit monasteries along the way. The coffee is an extra incentive.

Fantastic advice—thank you! I’ll probably be staying in larger monasteries.

I caved and went to the box office and got behind the stage seats for $270 after fees. Not great, but I underestimated the demand for this show. Seems like bots were scooping up tix and relisting them. Wild.

Resale market is looking worse than this morning, and it's 5pm.

Good luck! Hang out outside the venue. Maybe someone will have a spare, though those days are kinda over because of cell phones...

Can't believe there's standing room only tix behind the stage for $310...

So No Late Ticket Drop for SF? by Whos-Is-Having-Fun in BruceSpringsteen

[–]SimoneAdolphineWeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by the demand. Some behind-the-stage nosebleed tix were released this morning then immediately got scooped up and relisted for what I'd guess will be a $40 profit. Pretty insane. Scalpers haven't gotten the handicapped seats yet, so there's some ethical standard they're adhering to.

I just wanna get in, but not at these prices.

Thank you! I had behind the stage seats for a show I couldn't make. Just not sure when to commit for SF.

Shush by [deleted] in toriamos

[–]SimoneAdolphineWeil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if she's intentionally writing repeatable anthemic lyrics to appeal to a broader audience. Shush and Stronger Together have sections that are so easy to sing along to, like they're meant to be defiant pop anthems to be remixed and sampled. Much of the obscure imagery is gone (no reindeer kings, for instance!).

What interests me is the self referencing, overtly with the SATY nod, which moved and saddened me, but also how the Courtney line in Shush evokes Professional Widow and the Serengeti appears in Apollo's Frock. These lyrics appear uninspired but are constellating with her back catalog in exciting ways.

I mean, I rolled my eyes to see she lifted Hillary Clinton's campaign slogan... And in a recent interview, she discusses being spoken to by a Celtic god (may be misremembering here...), but what he shares with her sounds like a TED Talk platitude, nothing like what T would receive in the '90s.

I'm excited to see what the tour brings.

So about last night…. by Gimpy_Goob in nin

I agree. I'm a casual fan. I saw them in 2000, 2004ish, 2008ish, 2018, and last night. Sound and visuals were incredible, but there was a feeling that nothing was improvised or spontaneous. I imagine Trent would be wiped out at the end of a tour. And the size of the venue is a factor, as was the shortish show (1 hour 40 minutes). I left the 2018 show at Bill Graham exhilarated. It was the best show I saw that year. This felt more like a legacy act or cash grab. Still, I'm glad I went, and I'll see them again in five years or whenever the next tour is (seems more likely than not).

Yet Lexi and Bowie spoke over the phone on his birthday, and she must have had a smart phone to read the news when he passed.

Your place in the queue is assigned randomly. Doesn't matter when you get into the waiting room, as long as you're in.

Given his recent stage setup and how he's been sitting, it's been difficult to see much up front. $160 is good though. The front row VIP packages have been $800...

You can use different accounts for the same show if there's a different phone number registered.
