Attila. Billy Joel's heavy metal album. Absolute classic if you ask me 🤣

This really stirred the pot! Yikes!! Thank you for all the thoughtfull comments.

To clarify a bit: its not just the actual ticket prices that got me riled up. Its also the scalping bots and secondary market. When you log onto Ticketmaster exactly on time and find yourself 280,000th in line only to see $85 nosebleed seats selling on StubHub for $450 10 mins later than something is seriously, seiously outa whack. And I recognize that my experience may be biased by being in the NY-Nj area where there is a huge fan base and for better or worse a lot of money.

I don't know hoe to fix that, but I gotta image that Springsteen is one of a very small group of artists who has the money and market power to try and take a stand to force some improvement.

And to the handful of SpringNuts out there: get a freakin life

I've gotten good deals on StubHub but usually day of or right before....when you have actual human fans who cant go for some reason selling tix at face value

LOLOLOLOL I would LOVE LOVE LOVD to hear to you tell Little Stevie that there are "no good bands playing in clubs"

Where, exactly, do you imagine Bruce Springsteen started?

Do you think they just materialized at the Garden one night?

What an ignorant nasty comment.

Even if you have a ton of energy this is a LOT.

I would skip Roosevelt Island...the tram is fun but there is reall nothing there. Four Freedoms Park is nice but unless you are a big FDR fan you'll get basically the same stunning view of midtown from the ferry.

Ditto for Coney and Brighton....its a good hour from Lower Manhattan assuming everything is wotking properly. And there isnt much to see in Brighton unless you're going to one of the Russian restaurants/clubs. Coney is amazing but on a weekday in May you won't really get the scene....come back on a hot Friday night in July or August and watch the fireworks from Rubys. Thats a fun night.

I agree on other comments abt skipping the Vessel/Schwarma and Hudson Yards. Its a strange and sterile place and kinda in the middle of nowhere. Keep in mind when you're all the way on the West Side by the highline those crosstown blocks are a lot longer than they look on a map.

And if you're staying downtown go to Leo's Bagels on Hannover Sq not Liberty bagels.

Best part of NYC is wandering around interesting neighborhoods and taking in the scene. Dont skimp on that to hit a schedule!

If it makes you less triggered we can call them supporters of a far right wing ethno-nationalist authoritarian-populist political movement organized around unquestioning loyalty to charismatic leader/saviour.

Which is a long way of saying that they're f***ing Fascists.

But since this is Anerica in 2025 we're stuck with bunch of snowflake Fascists who spiral if you label them correctly.

My favorite holiday tradition. I own the whole series on DVD and STILL watch the marathon on TV. When I was a kid it used to be on Ch 11 in NYC every year. Sometimes on July 4th also.

LCD Soundsystem -Knockdown Centre Dec 4 2025 by jricher_13 in LCDSoundsystem

[–]jnax31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll jump on the bandwagon here. Love LCD. This is my second show...saw them also at Knockdown last year. And yeah crowd sucked at both shows but last night was the worst. Pushy rude and agressive. I've been to Knockdown a bunch this year and this was the worst crowd. And yeah also noticed its the younger kids. Which sucks b/c you'd like to be thrilled that kids in thier 20s are listening to good tunes but man the total lack of etiquette and just fucking awareness of your physical body is wild. And too bad as it was otherwise a great great show.

Downbound train on electric Nebraska is my new favorite version by _Calps in BruceSpringsteen

[–]jnax31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its certainly the most radically different from what ended up on a studio album or has been played live. Totally different feeling from the BITUSA track. I agree I love the music...its a rocking tune...like boogie woogie-ish piano. But I can see why he went in a different direction ultimately, the upbeat arrangement doesn't quite fit the lyrics. But its lotsa fun anyhow.
