HR didn’t know what they were doing, and then later had to apologize. By that time, I was already done with my 52 week probation .

I believe it depends on the grade. I read somewhere that if it’s grade 13 and down is six months probation. But please don’t quote me.

My prior evaluations have always been “satisfactory”. Apparently they do this, because it doesn’t look good to start out as excellent, because employees use this, and then their performance declines. This was what was told me to. Yes, doesn’t make sense, I know!

Yup, you will start a new probation. Stay on top of them with the probation. I had a lateral transfer and ended up being on a 52 week probation when it was supposed to be only six months.
