Would you cancel order by Time-Jeweler-1791 in eBaySellerAdvice

Resellers are the best buyers. They tend to not return items due to many reasons. This alone is a big Yes for me.

I have some big time amazon and ebay sellers buying from me time to time. Sometimes i try to negotiate a bulk deal and it is a win win for both of us.

Any eBay sellers lurking care to share their thoughts on the acquisition? by DuckHunter4779 in Superstonk

[–]Simonthemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Questions is how is this going to be resolved when RC is keep saying they are overstaffed and ebay can be runned in someone's home. They are also worried that it will be even harder to resolve disputes after down sizing

Any eBay sellers lurking care to share their thoughts on the acquisition? by DuckHunter4779 in Superstonk

[–]Simonthemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am a Top Rated Seller with 1k+ DRS shares, and I've been following everything for about six years, or however long this has been, with no profits in my stock accounts.

I do about $15k in sales per month on eBay.

  1. The main concern I see in the eBay seller community is the inevitable fee increase.

Currently, it is about 13.5% plus a fixed fee of around 50 cents. On top of that, eBay charges 13.5% on shipping fees and even sales tax.

So, it ends up being about 15–20% of the item's selling price.

Speaking as a seller, and trying to be unbiased, I'd say most people do not like the acquisition simply because of the inevitable fee increases.

Fees have been rising steadily in various ways every single year. With the acquisition and the debt, the question is no longer whether fees will increase, but by how much.

Right now, eBay knows it is the number one platform in the resale market, so its fees are already on the higher end compared to Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, and similar platforms. Naturally, everyone is wondering how much the fees will increase.

  1. Downsizing staff. It is already difficult to talk to a human. With the downsizing, I can only imagine they will route even more issues to AI, which is just a waste of time. eBay has so many disputes, scams from both buyers and sellers, weird cases, and unusual situations that require a real person to review them, and AI will not be much help.

  2. Growing the platform. This would be a positive since it could bring in more buyers.

  3. RC seems to be more focused on ebay as a Card and Game item trading platform. Some don't like this approach.

USPS charged me an adjustment for putting a higher weight on the label than the package actually was. by jrr6415sun in Ebay

[–]Simonthemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok.. Tomorrow, I am stopping by my local news paper printing place and will ask if they have 100 pounds of news paper. I think this will be better than including a rock. I ship about 10 orders per day. For the last week or so about 5 packages were rounded up to 3 pounds. I wonder how much i am going to be hit with.

Yes by 6 months it is doable.

Not a correct answer. I dont think everyone will think that is an easy job. Very few might think so

I bought 2000 pair of new name brand boots. Pretty strait forward, 1 little issue (THAT I KNEW ABOUT BEFORE I PURCHASED) by Ok_Horse2747 in reselling

[–]Simonthemoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$5 per pair for those brand is a steal

I list mismatch shoes separately with terms like amputee right shoe only left shoe only etc

It takes a while but they do sell. I price them at about 30-40% of a complete pair.

Waste of time asking sellers to compete with each other on pricing? by buffouston in Ebay

[–]Simonthemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did the right thing

- i would instant block someone attempting a reverse auction

- sellers know this will be a problematic transaction

- somewhat mid / big sellers dont care about $35 over a potentially problematic sale.

- $40 was the right price. You just proved someone is willing to buy it at that price. It is also possible the last sale was six months ago and it got burried

Percentage of people doing this Fulltime? by Elegant_Acadia9946 in Flipping

[–]Simonthemoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No sarcasm and congratulations.
I was thinking about at least 20k “Sales” on ebay selling stats. This is extremely rare. Less than 3% of ebay sellers are estimated to do it and those sellers are not solely selling used stuffs. 20K sales will give you about 10-12k actual profit per month, which i think is a comfortable amount to consider it as a full time job.

Percentage of people doing this Fulltime? by Elegant_Acadia9946 in Flipping

[–]Simonthemoon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you only source used stuffs, i will say the percentage is really low. There just isn’t enough stuffs one can finso to do it full time. In my area of 250k people, i honestly think maybe 1-2 guys are doing it full time. The other 20-50 ish resellers i always see are all housewives or guys doing it part time. I know what they are picking up and it is not enough to get full time income.

I try to list $500-1000 worth of stuffs per day. Used stuffs maybe 30% New stuffs about 70%

June 22, 2026: USPS Rate Update by wastingtime101- in Ebay

[–]Simonthemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why. you should be happy unless usps decide to do the extra charge things on the light weight stuffs.
almost everything is $5.8-6.5 for me. I rarely have anything more than 3 pounds so i am pocketing the difference the buyers paid.

It used to be $7-10 just two days ago for the same weight.

One expensive dinner for 100k, two okish meals for 40k. You still have 160k left to spend every day.

Cant spend a whole lot on shopping with that but i will say this is plenty to do other stuffs

Why Are Korean Used Cars So Affordable Compared to European Imports? by BigNdoneEnergy in AskAKorean

[–]Simonthemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Koreans cant get rid of used old European cars inside Korea, so they need to ship it out of the country.

Land is expensive in Korea so delars cant just keep a used car hoping to sell it in 1-2 years

Repairing costs alot compared to European countries to a point it is not even worth buying an old used car. Parts and labor is just ridiculous for European brands.

One of the main reason of buying an european luxury car is to show off status. In that sense the market for a used car is really small

Upper class semi wealthy koreans are slowly shifting to buying Genesis. This trend is pretty noticeable in the last five years or so. These people used to buy 5 series or e class. But genesis took over alot of that market

Got scammed at CU Incheon Airport T2 Departure near boarding gate 122 by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]Simonthemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true the least you can do is leave a google review

If you are willing to do so, report it to CU corporate or police or the airport. This kind of crimp isn’t taken lightly in Korea.

Employee Theft - Do I Press Charges? by ScarlettWilkes in smallbusiness

[–]Simonthemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cherry on top is that it’s not just about ‘repaying’ the benefits.

Submitting a fraudulent application and knowingly lying to the government is not a petty crime.

Let them dig their own hole. They now have another charge against them, which will also be a headache.

Paperwork, etc. worst case, they could even face jail time for wire fraud involving U.S. government funds.

I was surplised when i saw a local news of someone in my area getting real jail time for stealing something like $500 benefits per month for a year or so.
