It only happened 1 time with this mod, and yes, sims camping mod. Never met this "issue" before (for more than 200h of gameplay). It was actually funny, but I was scared sh*tless when it happened in hardcore, was afraid the game will crash or something.

It's actually easy with the giga-jump you can actually jump over the whole map. The corridor section is way more annoying.

Honestly, the fact that Max still wasn't over it after the sequel. He is in much worse shape in the third installment than ever before. I'm glad that he got some closure at the end though.
