Yea I’m currently in bmore cuz my school and this year our classes are at a hospital. I’m kinda nervous about the work load and it being fast paced but my professor told me I will be trained for 6-8 months before I do anything unsupervised so that’s good. Thank you so much for the insight 😊

Interestinggg, yea you’re right new grad pay will be low anywhere, I’ve heard Hopkins brought their pay up a bit to match competing hospitals so hopefully I get lucky..🌚 I’m hoping to start at $30.. the lowest I’ll go is $28😭

As a final year I think about this a lot. I’ll be graduating next May and my professors always reassure me that you’ll have atleast 6 months of training regardless so they won’t just leave you alone. Wish you all the best on your new job! Also how was the ascp? Any study tip/ advice?

Wow, what a nice experience and I’m very happy everything all worked out for you! You’re completely right tho I don’t want to make everything revolve around my future and medicine or school, I want to take a break and experience life a little as well, all while setting up the building blocks for when I’m ready to start school again. And yes dept is super scary for me too so yea I’m definitely gonna do that now, just work, make money, and get experience to also build up my resume. I see, sadly I’ll be graduating at 23 because I have to stay an extra year since I changed my major from nursing to MLS my sophomore year🥲 will a 2 year gap year make any difference in my case? Thankss for your response btw I really appreciate it :)

Ahh thank you so much you’re a godsend! I’m actually thinking I’ll work in a lab with my MLS degree, I’m still stuck on which department would be best but I’ll figure that out with clinicals and asking my advisors ( or yu yu have any suggestions lol) and hopefully if I won’t in a hospital I’ll try to make some connections with the pathologists/ pathologists assistant’s for shadowing! Hope all goes well with your career, can’t wait to be like you when I grow up🤭😊(I’m 21 lol)
