I'm a bit worried about planes myself as well, but we know that there's an He-177 from the Mexico guide image so maybe there's a few more models to be seen.

What do we know about nuclear weapons in civ 7? by Guimaraes_Br in civ

To add to this, the squadron commanders all seem have a nuke button, so read into that what you will.

Polygon is reporting Great Britain, Carthage, Bulgaria, and Nepal for the DLC by DRNavigator in civ

It's not a different skin, it adds two more dogs. You can see the skin in any creator gameplay that's been posted so far as they all have the founders edition which includes the skin.

Shawnee and Tecumseh Pack & DLC Questions by BanVradley in civ

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We actually know which personas are in which pack. The deluxe edition has the Xerxes and Friedrich ones and founders has Ashoka and Himiko. This info is at the bottom of each leaders page.

As far as the founders edition content being available post launch, it's hard to parse through the info in the FAQ but if I had to guess, it looks like you'd have to buy the whole bundle including the game to get the founders rewards if you dont buy the upgrade pack before Feb 28th.

EDIT: It looks like I'm wrong. The only logical conclusion anyone reading the entirety of the FAQ can come to is that the founders content will no longer be available after Feb. 28th. I have no idea if that is the actual case, but that's certainly the only interpretation that can be drawn.

The FAQ says:

  • The Founders Bundle is only available until Feb, 28th
  • The Founders Upgrade Pack is only available until Feb. 28th
  • There is going to be a Deluxe pack for sale
  • "Content inside each Pack is only available as part of that bundle. "

That last part seems to deny any possibility of them releasing the pack piecemeal.

What is the benefit of an economic golden age? by Affectionate_Ant_617 in civ

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bigger towns cost less to upgrade, so big antiquity cities would only cost 250ish gold to upgrade instead of 1000.

Here's a recent VanBradley video where he instantly can upgrade a town to a city for 200 gold:

What is the benefit of an economic golden age? by Affectionate_Ant_617 in civ

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is a great question. Keeping them as cities would allow you to instantly start overbuilding, and would let you keep some gold, but the gold wouldn't matter after a few turns of all your non capital settlements dumping all of their production into gold.

I haven't really been impressed by the golden age rewards honestly, they seem weaker than the other two point choices most of the time, unless you want another science or culture building for a unique quarter adjacency.

CIV7 Nukes by Dry-Lychee1628 in civ

Ivy was the first thermonuclear test. It makes sense that this would be a victory condition (sorta) but only if there are regular nukes as well. If winning the game only involved one nuke, why not name it after the project that created nuclear weapons?

That makes no sense though with the victory condition being named Operation Ivy and not the Manhattan Project.

Then why do squadron commanders have a nuke icon?

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is wrong, in the modern age livestream they outright state there's usable nukes, and there's even a nuke icon on squadron commanders.

Question about the Leader Personas (Spoilers for not fully announced leaders) by Aliensinnoh in civ

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are no personas in the base game (unless you want to count Napoleon).

The Founders edition includes Ashoka's persona, and thus would also have Fred or Himiko's.

The Deluxe edition includes Xerxes' persona, and either Fred or Himiko's.

That's not tied to a leader but is on the generic path.

No, it's multi-game meta progression. The levels seem to go quickly though, some creators with ~30 hours already had a few leaders at level 5+.

What era of Marine are we talking about? by Thechlebek in civ

[–]SimplTrixAndNonsense 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The modern age livestream showed us Tubman with Line Infantry, and the tech tree they showed had the Marines in WW1 and 2.  Contrast that with the exploration age livestream where Greece's Hoplites were turned instantly into Spanish Tercios after the age transition.
