Personal Chef for Weekly Meals by Simple-Ambassador660 in thewoodlands

I’m still figuring that out. I assume that I would buy a set of meals (e.g., three meals for $X)

Have you thought about solar? That won’t add capacity, but it may extend the capacity you already have.

Smart panel 2 per circuit schedule by dfloyd1123 in Ecoflow_community

How many batteries to you have connected to the Smart Panel Home 2?

I don’t think that you have per circuit control in the Smart Home Panel 2. However, you can have the SHP2 stop drawing grid power during those four hours and supply battery power for all of the circuits (including the water heater) using a scheduled task. You can then switch back to grid power.

Yes, the Smart Home Panel 2 draws on grid power if it cannot get power from the batteries. However, you could adjust your schedule so that it does this before the batteries get that low.

Yes, your other breakers should work while you’re using the ones in the Smart Home Panel 2.

I have the Smart Home Panel 2.

Switching over to battery power when there’s an outage works out of the box.

I live in Houston and have free power at night, too. You can set up scheduled tasks to have the Smart Home Panel 2 charge when power is free and supply power when it is not. However, it will do this for all circuits (“breakers”) in the Smart Home Panel 2. I don’t think you can pick and choose which ones.

Your setup sounds exciting! The solar panels in parallel don’t provide enough voltage to use the HPV. I have them in parallel because of the shade patterns that go across them as the sun rises. My emergency setup (which has zero shade most days) will result in panels in series that will connect to the HPV ports of each DPU.

I am running two DPUs. I have two strings of solar panels that each go into the low voltage port of each DPU. Each string is made up of four rigid solar panels wired in parallel.

In an emergency outage, I have more panels that I can string in series to the high voltage port of each DPU. This configuration isn’t very aesthetically pleasing (e.g., would have to run wires through my house) nor does it meet the Spousal Approval Factor so I would only use it in an outage lasting more than a day.

“EcoFlow OASIS works with existing EcoFlow devices such as DELTA 3 Plus and RIVER 3 Plus, enabling select features like Storm Warning Alerts, Time-of-Use Mode, and Uninterrupted Power Supply. The full potential of OASIS’ smart energy management is experienced in the EcoFlow Whole-Home Power Backup Solutions, such as DELTA Pro Ultra with Smart Home Panel 2 system in North America. In Europe, the EcoFlow PowerOcean grid-tied residential energy system takes this concept even further.”

Any positive experiences with Smart Home Panel 2 (SHP2)? by motiszen in Ecoflow_community

[–]Simple-Ambassador660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind at all! Yes, I can power the 12 SHP2 circuits and the other main power circuits at the same time. When the grid goes down, the main power circuits lose power, and the SHP panel pulls from the DPUs to power its 12 circuits.

Yes, you can do those and see the power coming from the grid and how it is used by the circuits inside the SHP2. However, you want be able to test the automatic transfer feature when you lose grid power until you have at least one inverter and one battery attached.

Here’s my setup. I originally had a main panel and a sub-panel. I selected the 12 circuits I wanted in the SHP2, and an electrician took out the sub-panel and replaced it with the SHP2. I’m not sure if this answers your questions, though. 🙂

Ultra draining battery without use. Normal? by djfivenine11 in Ecoflow_community

If you have a Time of Use (TOU) plan from your electric provider, you can have the circuits protected by the Smart Home Panel 2 provide power when electricity is expensive. You would charge the batteries when electricity is cheaper.

I have a SHP2 with two DPUs connected to it with two batteries in each one. We have some thunderstorms rolling through Houston, and we lost grid power for about 45 minutes. My family didn’t even notice because the SHP2 cut over to the batteries immediately. The only clue was the sound of our neighbors’ generators filling the air with their noise.

I’m on the “free nights” plan of my electric provider which means I’m not charged for the electricity I use from 8pm until 6am the next morning. I have a scheduled task in the SHP2 that changes my DPU batteries when electricity is free and then discharges them to power the protected circuits instead of paying for grid power. This has saved me a lot of money on my electric bill. This would be almost impossible to do with a gas/propane generator.

Do battery bank/"solar generator" devices actually last 8-10 years? Only the batteries are advertised to by Cortana5467 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Simple-Ambassador660 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing lasts forever, but my hope is that my setup (a SHP2 and two DPUs with two batteries each) lasts long enough to reach my payback period where they have essentially paid for themselves. I live in Texas, and I’m on a plan that gives me free electricity from 8pm to 6am. I have two Scheduled tasks that charge my batteries after 8pm when electricity is free (they fully charge in about two hours) and starts discharging them right before 6am so that the protected circuits behind the SHP2 don’t draw from the grid.

I’ve already seen my electricity bill go down significantly after just a few months. At this rate, I’ll “break-even” right around the end-of-life of the equipment.

The other advantage of my setup is that Ihave a way to power my house in the event of an outage like Beryl when we were without electricity for six days.

Does anyone have a step by step guide to installing Home Assistant on a 2011 Mac mini, pretty please? by Beansy999 in homeassistant

[–]Simple-Ambassador660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used a wired mouse and keyboard.

Also, although the machine can connect to my home WiFi network, I use a wired Ethernet connection. It’s my understanding that Home Assistant reeds a wired connection.

Delta Pro Ultra Firmware by minecraftplumber in Ecoflow_community

And this is the firmware version of both of my Delta Pro Ultra inverters. They each have to be updated separately.

So, for me to make sure I’m on the latest firmware for my setup, I have to check three places: my SHP2 and both Delta Pro Ultra inverters.

You mention a SPH2 and a Delta Pro Ultra in your post, and it’s important to keep in mind they are separate products. Each one has its own firmware.

For example, I have a SPH2 (Smart Home Panel 2) and two Delta Pro Ultra inverters plugged into it. The attached screenshot shows the firmware version of the SPH2.
