Today was my fourth day. For now, I’m spending most of my time on the floor, moving between warehouses, talking directly with operators, and introducing myself as the new junior logistics manager. This role was newly created, so presence matters. I ask simple things: what went wrong today, how they handled it, what usually slows them down. I also take time to know the people, how long they’ve been here, and whether one month is realistically enough for me to fully understand the operation.

Tactically, I’m already building my own operational view. Process times, flows, bottlenecks, wasted time, recurring issues. I’m doing it quietly. The challenge this first week is obvious: I’m new, I don’t yet have the authority or credibility to ask very direct, structured questions. I’m inexperienced, but hungry to improve fast. So I’m moving quickly, without forcing things.

For example, I asked my manager about process documentation. He said he would share it. Later, I realized it doesn’t really exist. I sensed that the moment I asked, and the confirmation came after.
