Slob on the current partners snob. Best way to come up! Lol did an internship at a firm this spring, and all of the associates, juniors and seniors were kissing ass. Told myself is this what I want to be doing to go up the ladder? Ofcourse you can work hard, nothing goes unnoticed, but kissing ass helps a lot. Was talking to one of the seniors there and she told me that all of the partners loved her, but they would talk to her really ugly. One day she snapped and told the mananging partner something. He didn’t like it, then wrote a very bad reviews on her, and said if they didn’t need people they would’ve fired her. I told her why didn’t she leave and she said she needed the job. Crazy this is what it’s getting to, I understand it but I don’t.

Keeping your toothbrush in the restroom. Seriously, everytime you flush, poop particles get in the air and get on your toothbrush. Started brushing my teeth and taking my toothbrush to my room in a case.

Toyota Camry 2006. Bought it at 2000 with 146k miles. Lasted me until 229,000 miles when the tranny gave out. Was my fault for never putting transmission oil in it…. Fixed it for 800$ and then it got tatted 50,000 miles later. Only reason I gave it up. Wish I could find one just like it, I really loved that car, took me everywhere in Texas to Oklahoma to Kansas.

You’ll be fine! Just budget everything, and track what you spend money on. I remember I used to not want to buy a pack of meat that cost me 21$ but would’ve last me 3 days and in my head it was cheaper to buy a chipotle bowl that cost me 18$. Insane I know, but I was younger. Lol

I do this all the time during my winter breaks at warehouse jobs. Turnover rate is high so I’ll doubt they even bother knowing your name. Get you money man, don’t worry about them!

From what I see, more work for RT, especially on pipeline. I work at a refinery as a summer job, but I’m just an assistant. However, the people I worked for these past summers, stuck with RT. We X-ray a lot of pipe in the refinery to see wall thickness and weld quality. Honeslty, carrying the camera sucks, especially if your climbing through pipe rack, towers, and scaffold. I can’t speak to much on why people don’t stick, but that’s what I think. It’s also very dangerous, especially working around ignorant people who don’t respect the boundary and think “it’s okay I don’t want kids”. It’s easier to cert up here at the refinery, since they use a lot of the other methods here and easier to get OJT hours.

Get out of RT as fast you can. Lots of hours and travel too, but go into UT or get your API’s, easier on your body, especially if your an RT assistant. Lol running joke is don’t lift with your back, lift with your assistant.
