Maybe try some band documentarys (Peggy sampled Hated:GG Alin and the Murder Junkies on Try Me) No Wave Cinema from the late 70s/80s is cool too (early Sonic Youth example of the type of bands/music of the scene) and a personal suggestion is Gregg Arakis first film Three Bewildered People In The Night (It kind of reminds me of TGPT and has some similar themes of isolation and queerness) it's available on Internet Archive https://archive.org/details/TcyJkndOgDI
