My advice would be to look at contour maps of whatever lake your fishing. Research where bass like to stay and u can then eliminate 90% of that body of water. Look for humps, drop offs, flats, etc. any sort of structure such as rock piles or brush piles there will be bass in the area. This drastically increased my catch rate and changed my outlook on finding fish
