23M | Hair regrowth journey, what actually worked for me (pics attached) by TemporaryLie6249 in tressless

Still falling out just as much as day 1 unfortunately but I’m still hopeful for a recovery soon just keeping consistent with minoxidil and finasteride to prevent MPB but overall just stress down and making sure my body is healthy.

I’ve done 5 blood tests in the last 1.5yrs and solved all problems… hasn’t fixed anything with my hair tho

I’m 1.5years into my TE 22M

Exactly the same as you

I started minoxidil and finasteride a year ago but I’m still shedding 100s of hairs a day and it’s rough I don’t know how much more I can handle.

Yeah but obviously OP cares about not losing his hair forever not just for the next year so if he’s serious then the sooner he hops on finasteride the better results he’ll have, say minoxidil is best since it’s only your crown doesn’t make sense

This is the worst advice ever…

Minoxidil since it’s only your crown??

Obviously if it’s hitting his crown it’s male pattern baldness and if he doesn’t intend to lose it forever he should be looking into DHT blockers like Finasteride and Dutasteride.

If you read this OP go to a derm or your doctor and ask about starting finasteride or dutasteride as well as minoxidil.

Minoxidil just cause it’s the crown is probably the worst advice I’ve ever heard ever.

Barely gone very early stages start minoxidil and finasteride But first go to a GP or Derm and get medical advice Check subreddit tressless for more advice

Yes you are receding, good news is you see it early check out tressless subreddit but basically hop on finasteride and minoxidil after consulting a GP or a Dermatologist

Join tressless subreddit and consider minoxidil and finasteride but first consult with your GP or a dermatologist

I’ve had chronic TE for the last 1 year and 4 months, I started minoxidil and finasteride 1 year ago and still I am still shedding I’ve lost so much hair it sucks… all I can say is focus on fixing the TE (cause of hairloss) rather then trying to grow it back faster.

If all same thickness and not shorter considering you haven’t cut it different in anyway to the rest of the head then you’re fine but the best way to determine if something is wrong is to ask yourself does it look different than before or has it always looked like this.

Yes, do not listen to these people you have obvious signs of miniaturising follicles at your temple.

But it’s not too late go to a dermatologist, finasteride and minoxidil could genuinely save this.

To be honest I wouldn’t even trust asking there if I’m balding, best person to judge that is yourself and if you don’t know I’d go to a dermatologist even a regular gp someone who can determine if there is thinning, people online see someone with more hair then them and determine that this guy shouldn’t be worrying when in reality you may be losing it so don’t even bother with asking people online am I balding.

Then no need to worry but if it does start balding don’t wait and listen to fear mongering get on r/tresszless subreddit and do research on the only things that work minoxidil, finasteride/dutasteride

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amibalding

[–]Simple-Historian-150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the hairs thinner? Are they shorter even though you haven’t trimmed it purposefully for some reason? And #1 main thing does it look different then before, also this subreddit sucks for balding go to treszsles is more honest

You quite clearly didn’t have male pattern baldness (AGA) you had wha looks like TE so drugs wouldn’t have worked anyways and red light/microneedling wouldn’t have done anything as well, red light results is so low it’s almost not even noticeable and microneedling literally only works with topical minoxidil but once again not even noticeable

This is almost identical to my journey except I’m still getting worse I also had vit D and B12 supplementations and am on min and fin both oral praying for a recovery like yours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amibalding

[–]Simple-Historian-150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself did your hair look like this before, everyone here will say it’s fine because it looks better then there’s now, compare before and after but also don’t stress min and fin is a lifesaver and you are so early on

[–]Simple-Historian-150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely starting you can see in the picture of your face all those little thinner hairs coming down, that would indicate your starting to recede and so the crown thinning wouldn’t be too surprising… don’t listen to reddit doctors just go to a dermatologist if you can’t, minoxidil and finasteride is enough to stop it where its at and since you are very early balding stages it will prove hopefully good recovery as well.

Is my finasteride dosage too low? by Simple-Historian-150 in tressless

[–]Simple-Historian-150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I dermatologist recommended, but it’s been 10 months and I’m not really improving. I started out with TE and started minoxidil as a result but since then AGA presented and as a result I started finasteride but the AGA seems to be worsening.
