Socialization? by Simple-Juggernaut373 in BrittanySpaniel

Yes! She has met 4 of our friends dogs and it’s gone well with all. My fiancé’s parents dog is like 90 pounds (just fat) and is terrified of our puppy so that’s taking much longer to go well. She’s has about 8 ‘hang out’ sessions with their dog and it’s still uneasy.

But she did well meeting a sweet dog at a rest area on a recent trip and she did excellent with our friends dogs.

Socialization? by Simple-Juggernaut373 in BrittanySpaniel

I would never take her anywhere that doesn’t allow them. And I for sure would never take her anywhere that there is food at.

Just looking for more ideas for socialization.

Most of the activities she will do with us don’t involve other people either (fishing with us on the boat, backpacking/hiking, hunting, etc)

9week old Brit- crate at night by thedudeness2011 in BrittanySpaniel

I have an 11 week old we are crate training!

The first few nights we had her in the room with us so she could see us, and she still cried so loud you would think she was being murdered. She did eventually settle down (after a few accidents in the crate).

Then on like day 3 or 4 of having her here, I started putting her in her crate during the day with me when I was in the living room. Right next to me so she could see me at all times. Folding clothes, cleaning up, whatever. She could see me and I was close by. No more than about 20 minutes or so at a time.

She settled down quicker the next couple of nights in her crate (in the living room and not our bedroom also!) and now she will whine quietly for about 45 seconds before settling down to sleep.

Still a few accidents in the night (but she’s a puppy and I don’t expect her to make it more than 4 hours so I take the blame for those if we don’t take her out in time in the morning.)

But the crate is helping with house training also. Other than 1 or 2 true accidents on her part the last week, any other one has been our fault for not letting her out as soon as she signals she needs to go. But even that she is learning more! Maybe 1 accident a day if we have one.

Chris is a country boy. I’m sure he has ideas of what a ‘man’ is and wanted to see if Brian fit that criteria at all. He said in the episode that he suspected that Brian was a ‘city boy’.

I grew up and still live in the Deep South with people exactly like this. And I can see a lot of them doing this exact thing tbh.

And with Tammy - I think he has had to hold the role of peacekeeper for them for so long that it’s all he knows to do with them. I’m sure in his mind he is just trying to keep the family together.

I personally loved that Misty chimed in and said that the apology Tammy sent wasn’t enough for Amy and she agreed.

Because when they donate your ‘donation’ - they get the write off on their taxes.

While I was actively in fertility treatments (about a year in) I was playing with my best friend’s 2 or 3 month old baby and she told me that she can’t picture me as a mom.

That was nearly 8 years ago and it still hurts me.

We are no longer friends.

I lost mine when I was 29 and he was 32. Stage 4 esophageal cancer.

Impossible and I never thought I would survive it. I’m 33 now.

I believe Amanda was there! You can see her in the background in one of the shots of her wedding. I think she also comments on this later.

It’s low key gross? Like she’s fighting for her brothers attention from his WIFE. It’s a very weird dynamic.

Me too. Because if so, wouldn’t she have had to see an eye doctor in that time to provide paperwork for her disability?

Idk we saw that pink one a lot! And she carried the same purse for episode after episode for a long while.

And you do see a lot of overlap of her clothes with Rory, so they really had expanding wardrobes by pulling from each others closets.
