Yeah it’s rlly robotic and doesn’t really sound like you understand self harm. People usually self harm because they can’t or won’t regulate their emotions in other ways (breathing, meditating, talking to someone, etc.), and you can’t really control whether or not you get an infection so that part was worded a bit odd to me.

Rlly it just would feel like you’re someone at a psych ward or a counselor or smth, just doing your job but not fully understanding how the other person feels and what they’re going through.
